And that might be why I have decided Butler is my least favorite Big East program. That and the fickle and whiny fans. I think RCIA would do the university wonders.

Butler's OOC performance gives them the best chance, but Georgetown and Seton Hall are both playing markedly better than the Bulldogs right now. Creighton still has too much ground to make up to really start talking about at-large chances at the moment. I'd go 3 bids - 20%, 4 - 60%, 5 - 15%, 6 - 5%.

I know CU stumbled in OOC ( although we have lost 2 games by two points in the last seconds- ASU not a bad loss; Loyola awful). However, after the first month when Mo Watson got settled in the offense, we also have beaten Georgetown and Seton Hall (on the road) by double digits), Butler by 8, and then lost another one on a last second shot to Prov. We will see if this trend continues-still a lot to play out.

I don't see what's wrong with this quote. We're all fans of our own teams. We want the league to do well because it helps everyone and it helps the perception of the league, but ultimately, I care about Villanova. I saw people suggest Villanova fans should be rooting for a loss to help the league. That's an absurd notion - I would never root against my team for any reason. I will root hard for other results to occur to help the Big East, but if the result that helps the Big East involves Villanova losing, I'll still root for Villanova. If anyone doesn't feel that way about their own team, that would be a headscratcher.

Thank you Mack. I have never hid the fact that I am also an Indiana University fan. I root for IU and whomever is playing Purdue. Do I want Purdue to win even one game? H-ll no! Do you think Michigan State and Ohio State root for each other? Is anyone in Chapel Hill sad that Duke isn't what they were hyped to be? Did UCLA fans shed any tears when USC lost to Oregon State? No, no and no.
Someone started a thread that said we should all root for Seton Hall to win their next seven? Really? Butler should gladly take two in the cheeks for the benefit of Seton Hall? Don't think so.

Wow! That is a very large brush you are painting with... But sure talk about all our fans from a few message boards... (I have decided you are one of my least favorite posters! That's a tall order with some of the guys that troll on here! )
I think we get 5 when it all shakes out. But Butler needs to get to 9-9 and St Johns, Georgetown, MU, or Creighton need to avoid any more bad losses and get a couple more good ones. Not that we can't get two of the others if Bu doesn't get in, but it would be an easier sell for the committee. (No bad losses yet, well unless CU goes into the tank.)
It's a tough league and we're starting to beat the hell out of each other, so we could really only get 4 because the shine gets knocked off the top 3 teams also. Crazy year in CBB, so it's really hard to say how it will all will shake out.
Bu has work to do, since if we lose more than 4 more games, I highly doubt we get in. With 1 game against VU,X, and CU, and 2 against GT, MU and SH, it isn't an easy task. I think we can do it, but we'll need to start closing out games. I'll start rooting for the rest of you guys as soon as were out, or the tourney starts, but right now I'm just rooting for my team to get out of this funk and figure out how to win again against the better half of the league.
How the Big East fares in the NCAA Tournament this year will determine how far the conference has come in terms of perception. But with three teams among the top 10 in this week's Associated Press poll - No. 6 Villanova, No. 7 Xavier and No. 10 Providence - the season has been more like the Big East brass envisioned when the conference was made over.
In the RPI, Villanova is No. 2, Xavier is No. 4, Providence is No. 21 and four other Big East teams are in the top 90.
The Big East's 26-18 record (.591) against opponents from the Atlantic Coast, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and Southeastern conferences - the so-called power five - is second only to the Big 12's 19-12 mark (.612). The Big East's 7-8 record against Top 25 nonconference opponents is best in the nation.
