Maybe they win the conference, but to predict that they finish the same as last year, after losing their starting point guard and center, is not sour grapes. It is quite possible Xavier is the sixth best team in the conference. Maybe worse.

@JonRothstein

Nova, Gtown, Butler, & Xavier are clearly the top 4 teams in the Big East. SHU in that next tier. Could finish anywhere bw 5 & 10. #shbb

See, justified sour grapes from a Hoya. I'm not planning on seeing any 1st place votes for Xavier or Butler.

Sweet 16. In what a hoya fan called a "rebuiding year" By conf time, I expect X and Butler will match up favorably with any team in the League.

3rd year in a row, this board doubts Cooley and the Friars. Sounds good to me.

BE Records

Villanova 32-4 WOW!!!
Providence 21-15
St. Johns 20-16
Georgetown 20-16
Xavier 19-17
Creighton 18-18
Butler 16-20
Marquette 13-23
Seton Hall 12-24
Depaul 9-27

it's not to say that it will always be this way, it won't. Eventually we have to figure out how to beat Nova! But now 3 years in a row the experts on this board pick PC to be in the middle or lower half and it just hasn't happened. BET Champion then gave Nova everything they could handle in the semi's last year. Cooley's teams find a way and with Dunn anything is possible this year. The thought that they can suck because Dunn might get hurt is beyond ludicrous, it can be said about the majority of the schools.

I just voted Marquette and it's tied 27-27. Ooooh, the excitement is building.

What happens if we're still tied at the end of the poll? Run-off vote?

I don't know but it seems like we can skip the 5th place vote.

Yeah. Whoever loses the run-off is 6th and winner is 5th.

History in this voting has shown that one or more of the top teams don't make the top 4 at the end. I could easily see a Marquette, PC, Creighton or SHU filling that void this year. Nova is clear, after that it's anybody's game.

Problem is PC doesn't have the same group this year they had the last 2 years. Even with Dunn, they could easily finish 2nd half this year. The lack of size is going to really hurt them. How do they matchup with a team like a Georgetown? Looking at PC's ken pom stats... Cooley's 1st 4 years- they've been an outstanding offensive rebounding team. 30 25 44 42 place in the nation(top 2 in both years of the NBE). Defensive rebounding has gotten much better as well- 303 188 137 80(4 and 5 in the 1st 2 years of the NBE). Without the size, they most likely won't be able to keep those numbers up at all. There are going to be games that it's just going to be a bad matchup for PC.

Let's say this as well- Cooley being at PC is what is keeping PC from being picked to finish 8th.
