The thing that I would wonder about it is did Jay with all the youth that Nova has push for an easier matchup this year? That's the only thing that logic would prevail I think.

That would make sense if that was actually the case. But Nova brings back a 4 year starter, a 3 year starter, the BE t6th man of the year who played starter minutes, Jenkins and Booth who played a lot last year and a McD's AA. I don't think Jay is concerned about playing anyone, anywhere.

Nebraska? Ugh. Talk about making a big splash...not.

It was made clear from day one that the focus would not be regional games. A regional game could happen, but it will not be a priority.

It was also made clear that they'd set up the best matchups which clearly isn't happening. This is embarrassing.

Hey guys, lets just forget this whole Big East/Big Ten challenge since one match up isn't what you wanted. Who needs the Big Ten, we can keep playing A-10 teams.

Last season, a rebuilding bottom of the pack Big East Creighton team beat Nebraska. Why exactly does nu get matched up with the big easts best team for the past two seasons? Nova - Michigan State was easily the top choice. No sense.

I'm now worried St. John's is gonna stuck playing a Michigan state or ohio state when we are going to be rebuilding next year. Confusing.

My match ups would be something like:

Georgetown v. Maryland
Villanova v. Michigan St
Xavier v. Ohio St
Butler v. Wisconsin
DePaul v. Illinois
Marquette v. Northwestern
St. John's v. Michigan
Providence v. Indiana

Surprised nobody wants to see marquette play indiana. Id love to throw things at Crean as he came back into the Bradley Center after all these years.

1 thing to remember, they aren't going to take what looks like 7 of the top 8 teams from the Big Ten in the 1st year. No way in heck that all of Maryland, Michigan St, Ohio St, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana are involved in year 1.

Also thinking-Butler/Minnesota will be very tough to see in this. They both play in the San Juan shootout which starts that Thursday. Also, DePaul plays in the Paradise Jam which starts that Friday. Given the games are Tuesday-Friday, I guess you could see DePaul play on Tuesday maybe. Also playing in exempt tournaments that weekend- Seton Hall plays in Charleston starting that Thursday, Georgetown and Wisconsin plays in NYC starting that Friday.

Michigan St will be really interesting to see. They already play that Tuesday against Kansas in the Champions Classic.

And the game was at Nebraska. Not a good match up for Nova and no one will watch.
