My answer to the question is Jay Wright then Cooley. Having noted that, I wouldn't give Chris Mack up for anyone.

The Coach gets paid the big bucks, he should be responsible for all of his student-athletes. I may concede the transfer point.

I still hold by the first point, his teams are simply not fun to watch. I root for them because its X, but every game there are too many turnovers and not enough scoring.

My biggest complaint about Mack is that his teams seem to lack the defensive intensity that the program had when Matta and Miller were coaching. It's probably unfair to compare him to two of the more elite coaches in college basketball, but it's something I've noticed, particularly the past couple seasons.

Mack is a good, but not great coach. He'll continue to lead Xavier to the NCAA Tournament almost every year and win some games here and there during the first weekend, but I fear that our days of routinely advancing to Sweet 16s and Elite 8s are over. I hope I'm wrong and he is able to develop the talent that he has recruited in order to bring Xavier back to being a top 25 program that frequently plays in the second weekend of the NCAAs.

That said, I'd take Jay Wright over any other coach in the conference in a heartbeat.
