Reminds me of 1988 when John Thompson was more concerned with getting his Georgetown Players reps on the team (and reserve squad) than he was winning the Olympics. Mourning had no business in the final 16 but he had signed with Georgetown, so there you go. Could of used a shooter, right Coach??


Maybe, but the US teams are an embarrassment of riches. Lillard got cut and he is arguably a better player than Kyrie Irving.

Agree that Lillard getting cut was surprising. It is easy, and fun, to second guess, but Coach K has opened himself up to harsh criticism if this team doesnt' win. True he doesn't have LeBron, Durrant, George, Howard, etc. but some of his choices are highly questionable. But if he wins, all is forgiven.
