Lavin is failing at every front right now.

If he wins he will get all the credit. But he has not won anything here or accomplished anything with his own players. I'm at the point now where I just automatically know we won't be in the tournament. The NCAA tournament seems more elusive than a Cubs WS victory. And I'm being totally serious. Time to fire Lavin, clean house, fire the AD, knock down Carnesecca and rebuild a 21st century on campus arena worthy of a Big East team with a legendary past, and play more games on campus rather than MSG as much as it kills me to say.

One thing you cannot criticize is our fanbase. SJ has done everything to push fans away for decades now. High ticket prices? Check. Uncomfortable seating at CA? Check. Old crappy arena? Check. A team that goes out of its way to underachieve year in and year out? Check. A terrible coach? Check. Lack of accessible gear (for most of the year anyway)? Check. Overrated recruits? Check. A team that has made 1 tourney in the past 10 years and well on our way to another 10 years without a berth? Check.

I can assure you there are tons and tons of SJ fans out there. Students, alumni, or just those who follow us. They are just waiting for this team to do something. Anything. Once that happens they will come out in droves. See 2011. We need to get rid of Lavin now before this turns into another decade of irrelevancy because if anything Lavin guarantees, it's zero results.

You are by far the worst SJU fn i have ever encountered. If you want to go root for another team im sure the Cuse bandwagon has another seat open.

We have no chance just because a kid who can't hit any FT's is leaving? We LOST games because of this kid. Did you forget that? How many games did we lose by a point or 2? Games we could have easily won if a kid who claims to be a mid-range jump shooter could hit a GD free throw!

You really have zero clue when it comes to talking about this team and it's chances moving forward. Last I checked we still have Obekpa, Harrison, Jordan and Greene. Thats four of our starters coming back and off the bench we still have Branch and Pointer. If you seriously don't think that Lavin will grab a JUCO or senior transfer as well as a good freshman then you haven't been paying attention at all to how this team recruits. We do our damage in the spring, it's ALWAYS been that way.

I know it doesn't feel good, but it's the truth. Please tell me what part isn't true pertaining to what I said. We have 0 recruits for 2014 and essentially every top 100 player is locked up already. We also have 0 recruits for 2015. Many teams already have both of those years filled with recruits. We lost Hooper, Sampson, and it's likely that at least 1 more players leaves...probably Obekpa. And even if he stays, we have ZERO frontcourt. Not a weak one...it just won't exist. We are incredibly short now and we will have to resemble Nova or UConn and be guard heavy. The problem is our guards can't shoot except for Harrison every once in a while. All the opponents will need to do is stuff the paint and dare us to shoot jumpers. There have been ZERO links with transfers thus far. De La Rosa is not even a guarantee to come here and even if he does he's a project, not an instant contributor. So what are you seeing that I'm not? Lavin had a team FULL of top 100 talent...hell most were close to top 50. We had some of the best recruits in the country at every position and Lavin still couldn't get us in the tourney. What on god's green earth makes you think that we will get there next year with MUCH less than we just had? Lavin himself even said he's focused on 2015 and 2016 recruiting classes. Next year we might be Butler. Yeah it sucks. No I wish it weren't true. But so is the life of a Johnnies fan. I'm convinced that as long as Lavin is here this team will underachieve considerably.
