Haha. SJHooper has went from 'f**k this team' to 'I wonder if we can win two games in the BET?' in the space of an hour.

Glad our actual players didn't quit today or when they started 0-5 this year.
We are New York's team. We are St. John's.

Why has our RPI not changed? We came into the game at 64 and someone said we would be 56 with the win. We just won. But they still show 64 as they discuss us on FS1. These guys also just said we need to win the tourney to make it. Lol…just before the announcers said 2 more would likely lock it up. Can FS1 make up their minds? Now that we won at Marquette who almost never loses at home, we have our 20 wins and our 10-8 conference record. We have a signature win and plenty of rock solid wins. We played with every single top 10 team packed with single digit losses. I know losses don't help, but we proved we can play with anyone.

This team has endured so much…key injuries and family murders during times we needed key wins. An 0-5 start. This team is 12-3 in the 2nd half. If the committee prefers teams who come on strong late then it will help us. I'd rather draw Xavier than PC. With Xavier I feel like it would be tough for them to beat us 3 straight times and 2 in a row at home. What is the status on Stainbrook?

Probably because they didn't update the RPI in real time. Chill out and wait until later in the day when they get the updated #'s. Lots of things are going to change after today.

One thing I'm sick of seeing is the 1-7 record vs the top 50. Most of those losses were against top 10 teams (Cuse, Wisconsin, Nova 2X, Creighton) Since this is a metric the committee considers so much when evaluating a team, I wish Monasch would schedule more teams that typically fall in the 30-50 rpi range. Outside of Cuse and Wisconsin we went 10-1 in other OOC games but the only one you hear anything about is the "bad" loss to Penn St. There's no question in my mind that we deserve to be in the tournament, but I'm beginning to think that if we don't win the BET it's not going to happen. A better constructed schedule might have made a difference.

You guys remember the last game of the season last year? Marq comes to SJU and wins in overtime with a last second shot to split the regular season BE title with Georgetown. Marquette needed it more last year, we needed it more this year. Very happy to have pulled this out. Easily one of the most stressful games I've ever watched.

Real Time RPI has it at 63 and Live RPI has it at 59. The fact that it didn't bump up to the anticipated 56 is all part of the ongoing conspiracy against St. John's and it's fans - along with the murders and the intentionally inflicted injuries by opponents' thugs. It's unbelievable what St. John's has had to endure. I mean no one, absolutely no one has to deal with injuries. And the NCAA handed us an 0-5 start to the season like a superior golfer drawing a handicap just to keep him even with the rest of the field.

Don't tell me that Syracuse is no longer in the top ten. I don't want to hear it. And don't tell me that we got them on our home court. Those guys were freakin' unbeatable. Could anyone seriously have expected us to win that game? Come on. We're not BC or Georgia Tech.

And does anyone seriously think that beating Marquette on their home court isn't a monumental win? Just monumental. Those guys almost never lose on their home court. I mean who did they lose to there? 7th place Georgetown? 9th place Butler? I rest my case. Just an impossible place to win at. It took the unreal Johnnies to pull it off. Against all odds, I might add.

BTW we won this game just to stick it to you, Villanova. How does it feel?

And don't get me started on the refs . . .

As a Creighton fan, this was easily the most stressful game of the weekend for me. I will freely admit that St. John's is the one team that I least want to see show up on my bracket for New York. So it was really, really important to see SJU get that win and move to the other side of the bracket. When they were up 6 with less than :30 to go, I went to do something else -- it was over. I totally forgot how SJU is capable of nearly giving away a game like that. Hitting refresh on my phone was really stressing me out! Glad to see the Johnnies/Redmen/RedStorm/RedHawk get that win.
