Big East Tournament bracket (through 3/2/14)

to me conference tourney almost locked up now..
1 Villanova
2 Creighton
3 Xavier(unless PC beats Creighton)
4 Providence(unless PC beats Creighton)
5 Marquette/St John's winner
6 Marquette/St John's loser- unless St John's loses, and Georgetown beats Nova
7 Georgetown- unless St John's loses and Georgetown beats Nova
8 Seton Hall(clinched)
9 DePaul or Butler
10 Butler or DePaul

Looks like the Marquette/St.John's loser might actually be better off than the winner. At this point, I'd rather play Xavier with Stainbrook at less than full strength if he plays at all than Providence who has just won 4 of their last 5. In addition, a win over Xavier gives me Creighton, which certainly looks more beatable right now than Villanova.

Right now Georgetown looks like the Wild Card in all this.

One thing that is interesting- St John's plays at noon on Saturday. Georgetown at 2pm. So, if St John's loses, Georgetown would know that with a win, they are out of the 7/10 game- and likely at that point in the tourney.

Villanova, Marquette, Creighton, and St John's win
Villanova and Creighton go to the BE Final.

Xavier 20-12 31% chance of getting in
Providence 20-12 27% chance of getting in
St John's 20-13 8% chance of getting in
Georgetown 18-14 35% chance of getting in

Now, same scenario, except St John's beats Marquette
(then Villanova, PC or SJ, Creighton, and Marquette win)

I think odds pretty good the PC/SJ winner woudl get in that scenario..

Villanova is going to be pretty selfish if they won't let anyone not named Creighton beat them to notch that marquee win.
