Right now conference teams play 12 out of conference games and 18 within the conference. If you add two games in conferenceyou cut the out of conference games to 10.

Naturally, the records for those 20 in conference games will be a combined 10-10 for those games, since one conference team will win and one will lose, but if we allow twelve nonconference games we will do better than 10-10 for those games, and everyone will benefit.

What a stinky Super Bowl. And the commercials have been better too.

Anyway, so when two teams play a basketball game, one wins and one loses. OOOOOOkay. You are assuming that OOC games 'dropped' would have been a win. That alone is a 50/50 coin flip. You also are assuming that a Round Robin slate would be played with 11 or 12 teams. Likely it wouldn't.

But what does this have to do with the importance of Conference RPI? It is only used on message boards to brag, "mine's bigger than yours". And that only works if you go onto other conferences boards. The NCAA does not use Conference RPI. It does use team RPI.

So if the ACC had not taken in Syracuse, Notre Dame and Pitt, they would be better off? More OOC's possible, right? The ACC will get more teams in the NCAA tourney this year than they would have without the additions. A Duke win over North Carolina A & T would benefit the conference more than the game of the year vs Syracuse?

The whole College Game Day broadcast of Boeheim and Coach K gushing over how much they love each other made me want to puke. It was like two annoying young lovers in the first week of their relationship: "You're the best poopsie!" "No, you're the best sugar booger." ESPN: "No, you're both the best!" And then to proclaim it after one game the best rivalry in all of college hoops? Please.

I did not advocate this before but I say Nova, SJU and G'twn should just let Syr, Pitt and ND lie in the bed that they've made. No more "home and homes" that help Boeheim or Dixon or Pitino with recruiting. 90% of his roster comes from kids who live between DC and NY. Screw helping them in any capacity. A home and home with UK, Kansas, Ariz, Mich St, Fla, etc does just as much as ones with Syr and L'ville. F the ACC. Let's keep building and when the two lovers from NY and NC retire in 3-4 years we'll see what happens.

I`m ok with SJU playing Syrecuse, at CARNESECCA. If Boeheim gets insulted then f that guy.
Take it or leave it.

ESPN wants everyone to believe that monster games over the years with Georgetown, St. Johns, Villanova, etc. over the years never happened up at the Carrier Dome. I've strongly advocated avoiding former big east teams at all costs in that in the long run, they're the ones who will benefit more. How's West Virginia's recruiting going in the northeast since they ran off? How has Pittsburgh's NY recruiting going since they jumped ship? Turtleneck from Notre Dame has stated that he would love to continue playing St. Johns and Villanova. Who benefits there? Keep these teams out of our neighborhoods and bring in Kansas, Fla., Kentucky, Big 10 teams. By the way, how much coverage did ESPN give the Georgetown MSU game the other day?

I have a hard time believing that any Big East school would even consider playing one of the teams that jumped ship. I have a problem with PC playing BC every year-they were one of the first to jump. "Cuse will only schedule games with the Big East member if it serves a purpose for 'Cuse and those members would be Georgetown and Villanova. Let them all go-we don't need them.

I don't know if Syracuse has always had this slogan or if it is recent, but I noticed it Saturday night and thought it was a shot at St. John's...

New York's College Team

It was all over the court and the sideboards. Is this something they have always done?

They started the "New York's College Team" slogan a few years ago. Their alums are proud of seeing it also on beat-up taxi cab roofs in NYC, and on a tiny sign in the upper-balcony left field corner facade at Yankee Stadium. The slogan should be "Upstate New York's College Team".

It is a shot at SJU. They are trying to steal our thunder, but anyone with a brain knows that the University of Maryland is closer to NYC and MSG than 'Cuse is.

There isn't a fan base in all of sports I hate more. More than Red Sox fans, Cowboy fans, Eagles fans and Duke fans. It might even be more than my hatred for all of those fan bases COMBINED!
