One more win should make Butler a lock. I don't think it will matter whether the win is vs MU, or in NYC. PC just needs to beat St. John's. It's not a case of PC needing a win, it's a case of them avoiding a horrible loss that will drop them like a stone. Win the game, and the BE tourney will only matter for seeding. Lose, and you better make the Final.

both have the same thing. Avoid losing to St John's.

the thing that is amazing to me about this year is just how bad the bubble is. With 2 top 20 teams out in Louisville and SMU it's noticeable....

take Lunardi's bracket today....

at least 6 of these teams are getting in:
Cincy, UConn, Oregon St, Michigan, St Bonnie's, Gonzaga, Tulsa, Ohio St, LSU, Alabama, Florida, GW, Washington, Temple

think about that.....

Agree with the bubble comment. It also tells you that those, today, on the 10 and 11 line need to continue to worry. If any of the above make a deep run in their conference tourney, they could leap over a 10/11 that trips up early. And if Gonzaga plays St. Marys in the WCC final, and wins, the conference could get two bids. Same with the Valley and WSU. Florida and Alabama are in free fall, but a correction in the SEC tourney could get them 5. Fun times and an interesting 9 days coming up. Things change daily.

Is the RPI relevant anymore? Or have the Power-5 finally got rid of the only index that makes things clear of who is in and who is out. It's amazing how LSU can be one of the last four out with and RPI of 87. What the heck is going on?

the Power 5 might as well break away at this point. They are using a combination of metrics and indexes to a degree that no one knows about... so we can't even question why is a team in or why a team was left out.

A fair and clear Metric needs to be developed that everyone understands to judge which teams deserve to be in the tourney.

A program like LSU has no business in the NCAA tournament this year. they suck

Shoot just think if LSU upsets Kentucky tomorrow- that probably gets them in.

some things have helped. UALR got beat by App St last night..... So they need to win tourney to get in now almost certainly.....

LSU is interesting. THey are 87 right now, but would take a road win @ Kentucky to get them really close IMO. A road win @ Kentucky and their RPI will jump considerably. Also their KP rating. Plus they would be the 1 seed and might get in that way as well... They've done really well with the top teams in the SEC.

fox's bracket-
Xavier- 2 MW
PC- 8 W
Butler 10 W (one of last 3 teams with a bye)
Seton Hall 8 E
Nova 1 S

Mandel's bracket is one that could very well be true... If UVA passes Nova, they would get the Philly regional.....

wow didn't realize how close they were:
http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketb ... n/UVA/NOVA

You have to worry if the 2 are really close if UVA would get the edge because of the head to head win.....

and for UVA- 252 miles to Philly, while 494 miles to Louisville.....

I actually think playing away from Philly might help Nova should they get to the 2nd round... Lots of pressures of being around home when you are making a run. Family & friends wanting a piece of your time, etc. As long as they aren't facing someone in their own backyard, I wouldn't be that upset (other than not being able to go down to support them locally). The road has always been good for this Nova team. 23-4 on the road in conference the last 3 years.
Go Nova!
