looks like winners of upsets like this move way up- more than the losers of upsets. A

Another example-
Temple upset Vandy tonight....
Temple from 179 to 133 (+46)
Vandy from 84 to 105 (-21)

same with Florida/Texas Southern yesterday-
Texas Southern went from 273 to 181(+88)
Florida from 22 to 57 (-35)

Interesting, seems like another reason to schedule tough. Nova being top 5 despite 2 losses is pretty impressive. Their RPI to the contrary is #24, which doesn't reflect how good they are.

Yeah. If you don't schedule tough, you better beat the doors off of teams like UConn. #141 SOS but up at #10 because they have the 7th best scoring margin in the country. You can't be like Marquette who is at 126 SOS so far so 15 spots better, but only #160 in scoring margin. It's why UConn is #10 and Marquette is #67. When in RPI it's Marquette #16, UConn #72.

To me, you have to almost schedule bi-polar. Schedule really tough teams, and really easy teams. There's almost no benefit from the middle teams....

League needs at least 1 more team to get ranked prior to conference play. Four would be excellent, 5 icing on the cake.

C'mon X, Prov, & Marquette. Get it done.

Xavier best bet IMO.

Providence only 1 bad team left so probably doesn't happen.
Marquette would- but they have to probably beat UCLA to get ranked.

This must be a joke. What do you propose they do? Bribe the moronic "experts" that fill out the polls?

PC is 3-0 versus Quad 1 opponents, One other team is 3-0 and they are the only two teams in the NCAA that have done this. One is ranked number one and the other did not receive a single vote. Oh and PC beat that team in a scrimmage.

Damn. Why so aggressive? I think you took that the wrong way.

Providence definitely deserves a TOP-25 already based on their resume. Unfortunately the AP voters usually vote in a such a way that backs up their own pre-season biases. That's why I dislike the pre-season poll.

The AP shouldn't release a poll until first week of December

unfortunately the one loss that Providence did take- to Virginia by 18- really holding them back. Still no reason why they shouldn't be ranked but I think that fairly or not is holding them back some.

Could just be that generally gaps are narrower further down you go the ranks at this point in time.

yeah- will be interesting to see as we go along if that continues to be the case. Just pretty noticeable with the 3 upsets we've seen here.
