interesting- Lunardi was doing the math.. right now he's got 59 of 68 spots taken. 24 teams fighting for the other 9 spots....

he's got 5 that are probable. Syracuse, PC, Vandy, Cincy, and UConn. tough to argue with those 5....
He's got 8 that are 50/50 right now. Butler in there.
4 that are possible
and 7 long shots- with Creighton and Marquette in this group

I read that too, Stever. Was surprised that Marquette had a shot but he says RPI is becoming more and more irrelevant, which gives them hope.

Basically, he says that Marquette and Creighton COULD get in if they win out until the BET final and then lose.

I saw Marquette- but man I'm just not seeing it. I mean, they win these last 2 games- they're 9-9 in conference play. Just looking, they would be either 5th(If Creighton beats PC) playing Creighton, or 6th(if PC beats Creighton) playing Seton Hall. I guess beating Seton Hall and Xavier presumably in the tourney could get them really close.....

Yeah and it would include another win over Butler, which would give them 4-0 vs. fellow bubble teams (PC and Butler). So I guess I see where he's coming from, although I don't necessarily agree.

yep. If their KP rating was better I could really start to see it. But right now- you guys are 96. But then again.... If a Big East team finishes 22-12, with what would be 10 top 100 wins, that's going to be awfully tough to keep out of the tourney IMO. Let's just say though, if they got there, Marquette would be wise to win and not take any chances if you know what I mean :)

Right. And winning the next 4 is probably equally as difficult as losing one of the next two and then winning 4 in NYC. Like you said, might as well just win more to make it a sure thing.

Put simply, a path for Marquette does exist, but it requires a lot of pieces falling correctly and MU pulling off several very tough wins. At that point, they may as well just win the BET. Beat Creighton in the final with Butler and Providence as the other semifinalists and there's the Big East's path to 7 bids.

Only thing is looking at seeding- don't think that can happen. 2 of those 4 teams will play each other in the QF. So at most, you would have 3 of those in the SF. Going to have Nova/Georgetown in 1 QF, Xavier/7th in another, Seton Hall/6th in 3rd, and then 4th/5th in the 4th. The 4/5 loser is going to be really precarious.

Not sure how familiar you all are with Dance Card, but they have historically been extremely accurate in predicting the at-large bids. Here is their prediction through Sunday: http://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance.htm
It has to be concerning for Butler fans to seem them behind a handful of teams for the last at-large spots.

Also, Stanford appears to be fairly safely in the field for the moment. I don't think many other bracketologists have the Cardinal in.
