Not having a true God PG option will really hurt Seton Hall as it hurt us last year. Still think Seton Hall can be a tournament team this year but they'll take a step back from last year instead of forward with out whitehead imo.

Jevon Thomas is out until the end of the 1st semester, not the start of the 2nd semester.

Should return mid December (end of 1st) as opposed to mid January (start of 2nd).

Khadeen Carrington may see a lot of time at PG this year - as opposed to my earlier post in the Pirates review thread.

Yeah that's what I meant semantics he'll miss the first 12 or so games.

Rothstein's Top 25 has Villanova #2, Xavier #4 and Creighton #25.

Well... how about the 2 NCAA tournament wins in the last 3 years? That is 2 more NCAA tourney wins than St. Johns has had in 16 years. In fact, since St. Johns last won a game that actually counted (NCAA Tourney), Butler has won 19 NCAA tourney games. Most people under 30 don't even think of St. John's when they think of college basketball. Your team is as irrelevant as your opinions have been on this board.

They were not listed in Rothstein's 5 schools on the cusp. Personally, I think they are going to take a big step backwards without Whitehead.

Everyone also thought they would take a big step backwards this year without Gibbs...now Whitehead certainly won't be the addition by subtraction that Gibbs turned out to be, but it isn't the end of the world either.

I expect they'll be about the same as they were last year. If Whitehead had stayed, I think they'd have been able to take a huge step forward, but they still return a ton of talent that's now a year more experienced and knows how to win. I'll guess 3rd or 4th place and wearing white in the 1st round of the NCAAs.

I think there will be an adjustment period without IW and really Gordon too, but I think Carrington is very underrated and the others are really great too. Not too much roster turnover.

I hate to say it but I think he's overrating Xavier. Just so many unanswered questions in the post that worries me. I saw Gaston practice two times, the dude is big but looked lost the first practice I was at(preseason last year) but he look better the next one I was it but still didn't make me fee like wow we're fine in the post next year. I saw Ekeyior once at practice he had a decent mid rage jumper which he isn't known to have(might have just been a good day) but I didn't see him much because Xavier was preparing for Nova that day.

The thing that will be interesting for Seton Hall. Every once in a while you have a situation with a team where they lose a star, and the following year, they are better than before....

a few examples from years ago....
1980's- Virginia has Ralph Sampson 4 years. They never make the final 4. He leaves and they make the final 4 the next year.
1990's- Tennessee football. Has Peyton Manning. They never can quite get over the hump. The famous Steve Spurrier quote that you can't spell Citrus Bowl without UT. Well he leaves and they win the national championship the next season with a no name QB.

Not saying that Seton Hall is going to win a title or make the final 4. But they could easily be at least as good next year as they've been this year.

We're a top 10 all time wins buddy. You're a Johnny come lately horizon league team who got lucky and had a few good runs. Good for you. Keep talking smack it's gonna be great watching you finish in the bottom half of the league this year. Who do you even have on your team anymore? Every year you get farther and farther away from Brad Stevens tenure and the quality of the program keeps slipping. On the other hand we are bringing the top recruiting class in the conference and are projecting upwards while your team is projecting downwards. But trolls don't care about the future, just the past. Oh and even at our worst we're worth more to this league than you at your best. The conference gets paid the money we do because of us, not because of you. No go run along, Pa is calling for you to feed the pigs.
