Some of you can't be real SJ fans on here. You have to be WSU trolls masquerading as SJ fans. I can't think of any other explanation for some of these posts.

I don't know if CU will compete or lay an egg. What I do know is that playing in MSG for the first time ever will make for a very difficult game for CU. I assume the chance to play in MSG for the first time will be a highlight of these guys' career. I hope Mac dusts off his Coach Wood (Coach Dale in the movie) impression and has the guys measure the court when they get there for shoot around. Could there be a better analogy for this game? The down home, one dimensional plodders from Omaha rolling into the big City of New York against the vastly superior, high-flying athletes of Saint Johns.

I also know coming in off a Friday game when SJ has had since yesterday to prepare for CU will also make things tough. It will be tremendous experience for CU and I hope they play well. Fortunatley, this game does not make or break CUs season. A loss means very little at the end of the day (as long as they take care of business the rest of the season). But, the experience of having played there will pay dividends come Big East tourney time.

Jays fans, what does it say about your team when 1 player scored 40 points AND the game winning NBA 3...and beat SJ by that last second 3? It says that you are 1 dimensional: Doug McDermott is the only game in town. He has to be essentially perfect and carry the entire team for you guys to win. I don't care about Gibbs or Wragge...McDermott is the only one on that team that is responsible for your record. If McDermott scores any less than 30 points you guys are screwed.

time for the bulls to take down all those banners - it's too bad. Chicago enjoyed all those championships - but according to Lavinwood logic - that team wasn't any good since Jordan was the best player in the world.

To answer the question - it says that CU has the best player in the country who is capable of carrying his team to a win.

But - again - myopic - looking at the rest of the season - Jays have other guys who are capable of stepping up - as evidenced by wins over other teams that are also athletic.

You want to double Doug? Fine - he'll kick out - to open guys who have proven they can drill shots. You want to defend Doug one on one? Fine, he'll rip your team for 30+.

You may not care about Gibbs, or Wragge, or Chatman, or Brooks, or Manigat, etc. But those guys are capable of burning you based on the choices you make defensively.

You also refuse to accept that the turnovers and lapses by CU against SJU are an outlier. The Jays have proven over 20+ games against some really good teams - that they can beat very good defenses, that they can defend against talented players, that they can take care of the basketball.

I think SJU is an interesting contrast in styles and matchup against CU. But, to pretend that what happened in Omaha is some sort of mind boggling aberration - is in itself both mind-boggling and laughable.

The reason why Creighton's scoring was imbalanced is because St. John's didn't double McDermott. By not doubling him, St. John's made McDermott the player on the court with the mismatch. Going to him continually was good basketball. Bad basketball was Lavin never making defensive adjustments.

St. John's has the more talented roster but I think Lavin doesn't make the adjustments and Creighton wins a close one at MSG.

Wow, I've never seen so much sh*t talking, condescension, and arrogance from a 14-9 (4-6) team. I'm just kind of sitting back and giggling my way through this thread.

The unfortunate thing is that I actually think St. John's gets the win on Sunday. I think they match up well with Creighton, SJU is peaking right now, and Creighton will be making a significant road trip after a home game on Friday night.

Why should anyone else on the team take an inordinate number of shots when the best offensive player in the country is getting one on one easy opportunities the entire game? If Lavin throws that out as his strategy again I wouldn't be surprised to see Doug get 45 this time.

I gua-ran-damn-tee ya Creighton will NOT be getting a 18pnt lead at the Garden Sunday night.

Defensive I`d play it the same way, let McDermott get his. We let him get his @ Creighton and it still way a tie game until he hit that last shot.
Only in the last 4minutes I`d double him and make someone else beat us, and glue Pointer on Wragge.

Offensively we need to play up tempo full court all game, that`s how we got back in the game @ Creighton.

Hope DePaul plays them real physical, Creighton believes the game should be played at arms-lenght away from the guy with the ball. Everyime there was contact I think the crowd was over the top and think they influenced the refs.

Don`t believe me well watch the game Friday night.
