As someone who has been to every Big East Conference tournament since its inception, and as a Villanova fan, I have no problem saying that McDermott will go down as having one of the greatest years ever in Big East basketball history. Had he played for three or four years, he would rank right up there with Ewing, Mullin, etc.
But the most important point is being missed.......remember that he still has yet to play in the BE tourney. If he tears it up like the Pearl, Jerry Mac and Kemba, the New York media hype machine will take over and no one will have to worry about his legacy, trust me on that.
