I think HoosierPal and NJRedman should both be a bit closer to the top of this list. Absolutely contenders...

Not sure where to put this. But Whitehead is gone. Seton Hall should still be great. Probably 2nd tier BE team.

Okay, but while we are making up arbitrary distinctions that are completely irrelevant... Maybe your team should need to win at least 10 games before anyone should consider "listening" to your basketball opinions or "contributions" otherwise?

The only thing St. John's has contributed to the the league with it's current members is the temporary use of MSG... so thanks for that. Let me know when they start playing basketball again in New York (college or pro)...

Now that we know the NBA draft situation, I'll chime in:

Contenders:
1. Villanova

Bubble:

Rebuilding:
8. Providence

Losing Bentil dropped Providence from bubble to rebuilding for me. Hopefully they prove me wrong, but Dunn and Bentil did so much heavy lifting last year that I just don't know where they're going to replace that production. Someone needs to step up.

As for Seton Hall, losing Whitehead dropped them out of my top "contenders" tier but it wasn't quite enough for me to jump Creighton over them for 3rd. I think the two teams are fairly equal talent-wise, but I still give the Pirates the edge based on chemistry. SHU's key players (still 4 juniors) have gotten a ton of playing time together over the past 2 years while Creighton is relying heavily on transfers, meaning some of their key guys are yet to play a minute of college ball together.

I think by midseason PC should be playing solid ball. The problem is that we may drop some non-conference games while our new roster makes adjustments, which could screw the league as a whole if we start to click in late January.

If we get out of the non-conference with only 2 losses, that will be awesome.

probable wins:
Maine.
St Francis NY (Emerald Coast pre-lim).
Cupcake U (Emerald Coast pre-lim, like Southern or UT Rio Grande Valley).
Cupcake U (as our 13th game).

should win but can't play like zombies:
Vermont.
Brown.
Bryant (unconfirmed).
at Boston College (unconfirmed, but I'd rather play Holy Cross or Northeastern).

should win because their rosters are maybe more shaky than ours:
Memphis (Emerald Coast).
UMass.

tough home game against a very good team:
Rhode Island.

probable losses based on Bentil leaving:
Virginia (Emerald Coast, if we first beat Memphis).
at Ohio State.

I'll go with:
1. Villanova-Defending champs, enough said.
2. Xavier-Mack had a lot of good things to say about Gaston at an event this summer. I think we had bigger question marks last off-season.
3. Creighton-Watson and Foster will be able to score with anyone.
4. Seton Hall-Losing Whitehead hurts, but still return the core of the team
5. Georgetown-Talent is there, but it was last year too. They have potential to be higher
6. St. Johns-Really like the pieces Mullin is putting together. Still a year away, but much improved.
7. Butler-Martin is a stud. I think they'll go as he goes, but a step back this year.
8. Marquette-Size is an issue. If they figure out something that works they could move up a few spots.
9. Providence-Not many teams can reload from losing arguably the 2 best players in the conference.
10. Depaul-Their favorite spot.
