St. John's 24th. I think It's crap Gtown isn't ranked, but good for the conference. Hoyas will get in when we beat Kansas this week.

Hoyas 28th Seton Hall 30th. Creighton receiving some votes.

If they win, they'll get in the polls.

I think you wanted to say, it's crap St. John's is ranked ahead of G'town. I know you wanna crap on the Johnnies, as you're a phony.

For tomorrow....

Well, not a great week but not an awful one either. Just some slip ups and missed opportunities. We'll still have three teams ranked tomorrow!

We are approaching the end of non-conference play. Just a couple more weeks.

NOTE: + means they gained spots from the prior week (for example- Nova was #10 last week and #7 this week in the AP so they are +3)

#37 AP (-3)/ #37 CP (-3) Creighton- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
DePaul- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
#28 AP (+5)/ #30 CP (+6) Georgetown- very unlikely to be ranked prior to conference play, but if win next two then it's a possibility.
Marquette- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
No votes AP (previously #29)/ #44 CP (-17) Providence- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
#30 AP/ #34 CP (previously no votes) Seton Hall- very unlikely to be ranked prior to conference play, but if win next three then it's a possibility.
Xavier- won't be ranked prior to conference play.

And the teams that need to worry about hanging on.... (already in the top 25)

#15 AP (+8)/ #19 CP (+10) Butler- lost a game @ Tennessee but they were ranked high enough that they won't be knocked out.
#24 AP (+15)/ #27 CP (+17) (previously no votes) St. John's- great week with two wins. Will gain a few spots in the polls.
#7 AP (+3)/ #7 CP (+2) Villanova- playing really, really well, should gain a spot or two tomorrow.

For tomorrow...

Best case scenario:
Vilanova (#5), Butler (#19), and St. John's (#20) ranked.
Worst case scenario:
Vilanova (#7), Butler (#24), and St. John's (#23) ranked.
Most likely scenario:
Vilanova (#6), Butler (#21), and St. John's (#22) ranked.

Hopefully we can end with three ranked teams. That'd be great heading into conference play. I'll guess it'll be two though. Nova is a lock, but I think SJU or Butler will slip up. Still a possibility of only one ranked team entering conference play.

More comments after the rankings update tomorrow.

I'm not so sure about Butler in coaches.. Of the 6 teams behind Butler in the polls- only Northern Iowa and Illinois lost. Notre Dame and St John's should get in the poll I think.

although unlikely, I suppose their's a small chance for Georgetown to move up despite the loss since it was to a great team and no one around them picked up a big win. N. Iowa likely drops out with their loss to VCU, Illinois also lost 2x, who was right ahead of Georgetown last week. Maybe pollsters drop UNC even though they shouldn't for a loss to Kentucky. So maybe Michigan St goes back into the rankings because they didn't lose, but it wouldn't be the craziest thing for more AP voters seeing Gtown as worthy of top 25 based off their near miss vs. Kansas and blow out win over Radford.

Obviously not holding my breath though. I think if we win the next 2 we should be ranked going into Xavier assuming we can get a couple teams ahead of us to lose.

I feel like all the rankings are fair enough. Its a real shame that Georgetown couldn't win their close games. They could be ranked 10-15 right now.

Updated... good week so far.

NOTE: + means they gained spots from the prior week (for example- SJU was #24 last week and #20 this week in the AP so they are +4)

No votes (previously #37 AP/ #37 CP) Creighton- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
DePaul- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
#30 AP (-2)/ #29 CP (+1) Georgetown- didn't lose much ground despite losing to #10 Kansas last week. Beat Charlotte tomorrow and they should keep moving up in the rankings. Only five spots to make up. Vs. Indiana a week from now should push them over. Not impossible to be ranked this Monday if enough teams ahead of them lose tomorrow.
Marquette- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
No votes (previously #44 CP) Providence- won't be ranked prior to conference play.
#33 AP (-3)/ #32 (+2) CP Seton Hall- already won @ USF this week. If they win @ Georgia tomorrow and vs. Maine next week they have a shot at being ranked. Not impossible to be ranked this Monday if enough teams ahead of them lose tomorrow.
Xavier- won't be ranked prior to conference play.

And the teams that need to worry about hanging on.... (already in the top 25)

#23 AP (-8)/ #25 CP (-6) Butler- needs to beat Indiana tomorrow to remain ranked on Monday.
#20 AP (+4)/ #23 CP (+4) St. John's- another great week with a win vs. St. Mary's tonight. Two teams ahead of them lost already and a lot more top 25 teams play tomorrow. Will be ranked somewhere in the teens on Monday.
#7 AP (-)/ #7 CP (-) Villanova- didn't gain any spots last weeks despite a great week. Vs. Syracuse tomorrow, need to win to ensure a top 10 ranking on Monday and possibly top 5.

For Monday (still depends on outcome of games this weekend)...

Best case scenario:
Vilanova (#5), Butler (#18), St. John's (#14), Georgetown (#24) and Seton Hall (#25) ranked.
Worst case scenario:
Vilanova (#13), and St. John's (#18) ranked.
Most likely scenario:
Vilanova (#6), Butler (#20), and St. John's (#16) ranked.

Georgetown and Seton Hall being ranked Monday is definitely a long shot, but not impossible if enough teams lose tomorrow.

Miami is definitely dropping out of the Polls. I imagine UNC will too since they have to play @ ohio st.

WV, ND, N. Iowa, Colorado St, and Maryland all have tough games this weekend.

Well at least 4 Spots will be opening in the Polls as #19/17 San Diego St, #18/19 Miami, #23/25 Butler, and #25/22 Michigan St have all lost this week.

San Diego St not a guarantee to be out by any stretch.

Would think Colorado St and TCU may get in with undefeated records. Northern Iowa if they can beat Iowa could creep back in there. VCU may as well..

Don't see Georgetown with such a close game today getting in. Seton Hall is possible I suppose.

If Seton Hall wins tomorrow, they might have a shot...
