With no weekday games, Doug is going to make alot of national appearances. He is on the Dan Patrick show at 11:35 ET (NBC Sports Network), Katz Corner at 1 pm ET (ESPNU). On Wednesday, he will be talking to Jim Rome and Seth Davis and shooting a segment for CNN!?!?. Then on Thursday, he will be on PTI with Coach Mac. Great pub for Creighton and the Big East!

In my humble opinion Doug McDermott is a much better player than Ewing was and equal to Mullins. I know that the fans on this Board have very strong opinions against this becuase of his MVC past, but against top teams outside of the Missouri Valley he was dominant. And lets face it, he beat Wichita State twice last year ( once almost single handedly) who was a final Four finisher. He is POY and has silenenced all the critics with his masterful performances this year in the Big East

There will come a time all the old guard here will be fawning all over him.

Meanwhile Ewing brought GTown to a Championship and a runner up twice. McDermott might be good individually but he isn't dominant enough to bring a whole team that far like Ewing was.

Ewing had David Wingate and Reggie Williams as well; Doug has...Wragge.

And anyway comparing Ewing to Doug isn't really a good idea since both played different positions and styles. Mullin would be closer I'd think but really Doug's inside/outside game is pretty rare. However, saying Doug is better? Doubtful.

DMD won't rank in BE lore. He will however be the standard bearer for the new incarnation of the BE - as a seminal player in this transition - along with other BE players from this season. If Creighton can win the BE Tourney - he could become a 1 year wonder/Garden legend...but that's about it as far as the BE is concerned. He is an old school, throwback, type player and an average to above average athlete. Skilled, but not dazzling. A good all around forward, but not elite.

The timing - as stated by others above - is perfect. He eventually will be best remembered as the banner carrier for this transition period of the (new) Big East. That will be enough.

He will fare better from the national college basketball side of this argument: Naismith POY winner (2013), 3 time AA, potential Wooden POY this season, Top 10 in scoring, other awards. This is as it should be - as we new folks are not yet BE. You have not yet learned to hate us (Creighton), but you Will - oh yes - ...you will.

All we do is win.

Gtmo, saying stupid stuff like that will get everyone hating us.

I realize you're just being you but most people on here don't get that.

So for the fans on this board who think Doug does not belong in the best BigEast players of all time...I have a question....what if creighton were to win a nationakl Championship this year? Does that make Doug the best of the best?
