Move the final back to Sunday afternoon. Like the good old days of the Big East. With all the other power conferences moving to Saturday night go in the opposite direction. Play that game Sunday at 1 and all you're going up against is the SEC and A-10.

That is and isn't the good old days of the Big East. Yes it was held before on Sundays, but at the start of the Big East, the final was held on Saturday nights.

Just think from a competitive standpoint, having the final on Saturday is very beneficial. Having that extra recovery time is huge. I mean, let's take last year Creighton/PC in the final and lets say Creighton wins. PC makes the tourney but has to play in Dayton on Tuesday night. Huge difference Sunday-Tuesday turnaround vs Saturday-Tuesday turnaround.

We had the better atmosphere and better crowds at our tournament compared to the ACC and AAC. Our fans show up for games while theirs sit in their double wides watching on TV.

I love playing the tournament at the Garden... it's the best venue for a basketball tournament... but I'm not going to kid myself and say our tournment is the best anymore - its way different as are the other ones!

The TV ratings were bad and according to the Big East website, the championship game drew only 13,471 fans to the Garden -- that's almost 6,000 empty seats, we NEVER would have had that in the old days.

The Championship game for the American had better tv ratings and comparable attendance numbers (with 13,365 fans in the smaller XL Center), but definitely lacked the excitement of the Garden for us!

The ACC Championship game blew the Wildcats win out of the water on tv and had 22,026 lifeless fans, as a shell-shocked crowd at the Greensboro Coliseum sat fairly quiet down the stretch as Notre Dame easily held off their tobacco row fan favorites UNC.

Realignment has changed everything -- and its quite possible fans are the actual losers, and not any particular conference... as things have changed everywhere at the expense of the familiar and traditional rivalries!

I'm sure it hurt that AT&T customers were black-out to darts.

I'm sure it hurt, but don't think you can pin the entire drop on that. If all the rounds were like the semifinal, then yeah you could say it was the entire reason. But when you are having 30-40% drops, you can't just say it's that.

Never said, it was just that. ;)

Quarterfinals of the ACC are now on Thursday. Who knows what the reason are.

The December 2 Mount St. Mary’s/Seton Hall game on Fox Sports 2 was the least-watched of the season, with just 1,000 viewers. Fox Sports 2 aired the 10 of the 11 least-watched games during the regular season, with a Big East team involved in each of the ten.

A lot of the good games were on the Fox national station, so you can't really just compare average as the sample isn't the same.

And last year's big east tourney games are skewed a bit for the ones involving creighton, so otherwise they were solid.

Fox Sports needs to get on main tier cable packages. Until then, it will lag behind. Fortunately we have time.
