Brutal for Big East. We are inching closer to a 3 bid league. Nova without Gillespie, Creighton and our off court issues and UConn who will probably be an 8 seed. Looks unlikely any team will make it out of the first weekend...

The only silver lining is perhaps one of the other teams can make a run in the BET and steal a bid.

I think UCONN has a chance to go to the second weekend, and Nova has the talent to go to the S16. I don't know about CU. We are a mess right now and I hope we can pull out of it. Maybe X sneaks in. Like Gumby said, the BE tournament seems wide open right now, so maybe someone like SJ gets hot and wins the tournament.

If this SJ team made a run to win the Big East tourney, it would be absolute insanity. In a good way of course. I've been saying and will keep saying: we need SJ and G'Town to be very relevant to maximize the power of this league. We are so long overdue to come out of nowhere and win it. Been 20+ yrs right? If PC can randomly win it one year, why can't we?

I personally think UConn is a 100% lock. I'd guess ONLY scenario they get left out is if they lose to Georgetown and then DePaul in QF of BET. Even there might need some bid thieves.

Dream scenario would be if Seton Hall and Xavier played QF in that 4/5 BET game- think the winner of that probably would be in.

No, I'm saying the 3 locks includes UConn. I don't think they're 100% in like Nova and Creighton, but at least 95% IMO.

I recall lots of Big East fans said UCONN needed the BE far more than the BE needed UCONN. Safe to say it was far more mutually beneficial.
