DePaul got beat by almost 40 at Northwestern?

Glad to see that STJ and Nova wins their games.

Impressed by UConn again.

Not sure either PC or Hall are ncaa teams this year, but obviously one or both could get hot and get there if things go their way.

Yeah UConn is long, big, and strong. They will be a problem for every team they play this year. With the depth they can afford to play as physical as they did against us even with tight whistles. (Might have kept Butler within 10-12 points last night would be my guess.) Not sure when we get to full strength we'll hang with them. (Not sure anyone in the BE will this year minus a one off game or two.) ;) Tip your cap and say glad we only play them once or twice more this year.

Yeah, it's been really dead. Guess maybe the slow start has something to do with it?

Anyways, hopefully now that it's conference time, things will start to pick up here(and on the court!)

Feels to me like college hoops in general has played second, third, or fourth fiddle to CFB, NFL, and WC coverage. Perhaps once we get past CFP things will pick up.

maybe even now with the WC finally over. I guess that's a good point.

If college basketball were proactive, they would move the sport to be a second semester sport only. Nobody really pays attention to CBB until after football is over.

the problem is it's such a limited time frame in the spring. I don't think they want to be competing with the NBA playoffs.

Its possible, but its still a large net gain imo because the first two months of an only 4 month regular season are effectively lost due to football dominating the media.

And if you wait you have first month and a half dominated by the NFL playoffs (plus in a few years the CFP). Then you have NBA All Star game. And then in April/May you have NBA playoffs. And you have issues with schools like St John's/Georgetown/Villanova with gym space still.

There's no real easy answer honestly.

This board is a little slow this year also, because as a conference we're not fighting for relevance like we had to years ago. We're perennially in the top-4, re-loaded with super new coaches, and can now just sit back and enjoy the games.
