I disagree as far as getting teams in. At times maybe some of the seeds have been a smidge low, but in general been treated pretty fairly.

Barajas probably meant perceptions.

I don't think that's really accurate. I mean you look at the teams who didn't get in and the Big East has had only 1 1 seed in the NIT in the time- St John's back in 2014. IIRC their schedule wasn't that great OOC. Only 2 2's- Marquette 2018 and Creighton 2019. Neither one of them really that egregious of a tourney snub.

I mean you can say some stuff about seedings thru the years being a smidge too low.

I think the perception is as a whole, the committee has been very fair to the Big East.

Stever is correct, the Big East has not been unfairly treated by the committee. A seed here or there sure, but we've also gotten a better seed here or there than expected. We've already gone over this within previous threads and on average the Big East has been treated the same way as any other Power conference. No disrespect at all.

As for how ESPN treats the Big East or whatever, that's a different story, but I get it since they don't own our rights.

Yea, if anything the committee has been generous to the Big East year after year since the split. Maybe that is a perception due to perceived slights from the media, but our team count and seed numbers has been as good or better than we expected every year.

I had actually replied saying the selection process tries to be fair to everyone. But reading Barajas comment again, I think he was replying to my Providence disrespect comment by the ESPN bubble watcher.

Yes stever I'm talking about the media and espn. The big east stopped existing for ESPN and all the sports websites only ever have stories on p5 conferences. Yes kayako I was replying to your comment about friars. It's rather inconvenient to post from my phone so I rather not bother with quoting you. But yea the friars are being disregarded by the media.

Just realized that's a lot of mid-majors in the bubble. Seems a lot more than usual.

so Loyola lost tonight so there would go an at large spot as now Northern Iowa is back leading the league.

big win for Michigan tonight over Purdue. They still need to go like 4-4 with 7 Q1 games- but they have a real shot to make the tourney.
