GumbyDamnit! wrote:Yeah that Johnnies - Friars line is a bit surprising. Though I thought Creighton as a home dog to X was a head scratcher too. I was a genius after 20--not so much after 40. Here's what I see. SJU has to put some stakes in the ground if they want to make it the postseason. They have opportunities still to come but if they drop to 3-6 in conference, there's not much runway left. It's at Carnesecca after being on the road for a few. PC is due for a clunker or a close loss at some point (sorry Friar fans). "Why not the Johnnies!" say I.

Yeah and PC has the short turn around thanks to the blizzard.

It's not quite a must win for St John's, but it's pretty close- need to go 7-4 to have much of a chance and they have 7 games(to include this one) with more than a 35% chance of winning.

All the recipe for a St John's win tonight.

Huh? IMO, Julian Champagne is the great neutralizer, regardless of the competition. There is no one in this league that has a ready 30 pt game in his back pocket. Posh can easily take the Bynum factor away....BUT Y'all gotta do something with Durham. He reamed us a good one!

he's struggled now his last 3 games- scoring only 23 points on 9-36 shooting and only 4 free throw attempts. You just know he's going to explode at some point.

It's going to be another tough UFC matchup. The 9pm tip-off is gonna make things weird too.

The SJU game at Providence was even throughout. The difference was a couple of possessions with like 6 minutes left. The Johnnies changed from mostly driving to the hoop and took a couple of threes that weren't necessary (in my opinion).

Also, Soriano was in foul trouble throughout at the Dunk. Tonight he'll be on the floor 30 minutes.

Also, Wheeler has been breaking out recently. He's emerged as another weapon for Mike Anderson

Tough game, should hopefully be entertaining and a defensive battle.

Hopefully none of these refs are on the court:
- Brian O'Connell.
- James Breeding.
- Pat Driscoll.

If any of these gentlemen are reffing, we'll be in big trouble.

Game is at Carnesecca Arena. Under Cooley, PC is only 2-3 there vs St John's, but 5-1 at MSG.

Looking forward to some games tonight, but not terribly optimistic for my Jays.
