Kobe Bryant

Saw an interview with Brad Stevens yesterday. He recounted that his best friend in H.S. was being recruited by LaSalle in which Joe "Jellybean" Bryant was an asst. coach. Brad asked him how the visit went and was told: "I got the opportunity to play some pick up BB while there...I played with one of the coaches son who is without a doubt the greatest 16 year old player I've ever seen." That player, of course, was Kobe Bryant.

RIP Kobe.

LA has been eerily quiet the past 24 hours. So many of the guys on my staff were red-eyed today. It’s amazing the impact Kobe had on people’s lives. So unfair.

I've really liked as a byproduct of this what has happened on Twitter... Elle Duncan from ESPN did a rememberance on Monday's sportscenter on how she met him one time and it was really powerful. AT the end of it, Kobe had said that he was a girldad.

What's happened since is all sorts of sports stars, heck even other stars have posted that they too are a girldad. #girldad went viral pretty much the entire day on Tuesday on twitter.
