Huh?

TT graduated nearly their entire starting lineup... Probably not as good as last season - especially early. Press is giving Beard the benefit of the doubt and has them ranked in most polls.

Plus they haven't scheduled well either...

The Ugly...

Texas Tech Red Raiders
The need to rebuild a Final Four team doesn't excuse this mess. Eastern Illinois, Bethune-Cookman, Houston Baptist, Tennessee State and Long Island all visit Lubbock before Thanksgiving. Two more Quad Fours -- UT Rio Grande and Cal State Bakersfield -- come in December. The Red Raiders better hope they're not close to the bubble.

Yeah they lost to the Bahamas' national team that the Hoyas Crushed. They are not a top 25 team this year.

Caught the Nova - USC game last night. USC won by about 10. Back and forth all game then they pulled away in the last 5 mins. Lots of guys played. USC has 4 really good Frosh. If they stick around that team could be a problem nationally.

The good: JRE looked really good. High BB IQ and big time motor. Love his game. Moore, another Frosh, is built like and plays like an upperclassman. Those 2 will play a lot. Bey’s our best player. Samuels had flashes of brilliance but not yet settled in completely. If Antoine can contribute anything like JRE and Moore, 3 of our top 6 will be Frosh.

The bad: really poor shooting. We had looks but other than Bey we couldn’t hit much of anything from the outside. Swider who is expected to be our sniper really struggled with his shot. We clearly missed Colin G as play was a bit ragged at times. Defense was no where near where it needs to be. I guess that can be expected for this early.

Those USC freshmen better be good. Andy Enfield and staff payed big money for them.

Jays held an intrasquad scrimmage. According to Jet...the jones boys, Ballock, and Zegarowski were killin' it. Epperson is looking like his old self catching lob passes. Nice little report. Thanks Jet.

The friars played against Stonehill yesterday, Ed Cooley's alma mater and was inducted into Stonehill's hall of fame before the exhibition started. Emmitt Holt returned after missing two years from intestinal surgery and looked great with 17 points and 13 rebounds. He could be the friars x factor this year. Alpha Diallo and David Duke looked real impressive also. Injuries are limiting the friars with Nate Watson out indefinitely with I believe an mcl sprain and point guard Luane Pipkins nursing hamstring issues. Freshman Greg Gantt is dealing with leg issues and hasn't practiced yet this year. Maliek White injured his ankle during the game yesterday and didn't return to action. If everyone gets healthy the friars will be a force this year as I think many national pundits are sleeping on them. Got to get healthy first.

Providence has more talent than almost anyone in the conference besides villanova. The harsh truth is they've been sub-100 in offensive efficiency 4 years in a row. Unless that gets fixed, I have no reason to think they'll be able to take the next step to become an elite team and compete for the league title

Honestly I don't know how that doesn't alarm more providence fans. 4 years is a pretty good sample size and it's not like you haven't had the talent to be better. Watching you guys run offense is like pulling teeth.
