I hope I'm proven wrong but the league has graduated or lost a lot of good players the past couple years and also a couple of elite coaches, and the next guy up has not performed to that level or they were not prepared. Who knows maybe things will get better but all doom and gloom for now.

You keep saying this nonsense about Xavier. Mack left them in a horrible situation, evidenced by Steele having to bring in 3 grad transfers and a humongous 2019 class. We don't know if Steele is going to be a great coach, but Mack wouldn't have done any better this past season.
Butler has the smallest basketball budget in the conference. Unless that changes, or unless they find their Mark Few, they're going to lose coaches. As long as Georgetown and Nova don't get poached, we're not a tier 2 conference. On that note, I'd like to see another program or two step up to that 3M+ level.

In the last 5 seasons (since Buzz bailed):
- only 2 of our schools have had coaches poached.
- 3 of our schools forced their coach out.
- 5 of our schools have had the same coach.
Wright, Willard, McDermott and Cooley have turned down multiple "power 5" suitors.

Serious question, which P5 schools made a serious run at Willard?
With its 21 units in 2015, the ACC became the first conference to hit the $30 million mark for one tournament, pulling in a six-year payout cycle of nearly $33 million. Last year the ACC earned 25 units, besting the conference record set by the Big East in 2009 (24), which was the most since the NCAA started the basketball distribution fund in 1991.
CONFERENCE – UNITS – TOTAL PAYOUT (through Elite Eight games)
ACC – 22 units - $ 36,036,000
Big 12 – 19 units - $ 31,122,000

Big Ten – 12 units - $ 19,656,000
AAC – 5 units - $ 8,190,000
Atlantic 10 – 5 units - $ 8,190,000
Missouri Valley – 5 units - $ 8,190,000

It's a sign from Buzz that the he thinks the SEC has surpassed the ACC in stature. This borders on disaster for the ACC. Virginia Tech will sink to depths with the other dregs like Pitt, NC, The Irish, BC, etc.... just tough news for the ACC.
