I will throw in my 2 cents worth for the All-Frosh team. Of course, this is with a number of games left to play and things could change. At this point, I think Hauser and Reeves are locks. I think McClung is close to a lock. He has had some splashy games that have garnered attention, but I think that it is important to look at the numbers of the non-locks for a better assessment of the players:
------------- PPG RPG APG TO FG% FT% 3P%
McClung---- 13.9 2.3 1.9 1.9 .418 .780 .301
Akinjo------ 13.4 2.7 5.4 3.5 .357 .815 .381
LeBlanc------ 9.5 7.6 1.2 1.2 .670 .681 .667
Zegarowski 10.7 3.7 3.2 1.8 .487 .771 .482
Bey----------- 7.8 4.8 1.0 0.8 .452 .613 .344
All "whatever" teams tend to go with scoring, so I think McClung will get the third spot based on that. If you look at the numbers though I think Zegarowski is a strong contender for the 3rd spot. I know my Creighton bias is showing, but I think that the numbers back this up. I know that McClung and Akinjo have higher scoring numbers, but their shooting percentages are much lower. Z is a perfect fit for the Creighton offense and, as the PG, makes things go for the team. That is why Creighton fans say they wouldn't trade him for any other freshman in the League. That doesn't mean the others aren't great players and they might have higher numbers as things move along. I would go with Hauser, Reeves, Zegarowski, McClung and LeBlanc. I would choose Leblanc over Akinjo at this point because of LeBlanc's efficiency on offense and his rebounding. They might choose six and all of them would be on the team. Bey doesn't have the numbers right now, but will be a great player for Nova. I think Hauser will be freshman of the year, although I also think that Reeves would be the choice if he hadn't been injured. Still plenty of games to go! I could also be missing someone else who is deserving, so I apologize for that.
