I guess LeBlanc & Scruggs for Figueroa & JRE makes sense. I was just trying to sneak a Nova player in somehow! Cooley's going to have some tough decisions to make.

With Cooley coaching, I doubt Nate Watson isn’t on the roster.

Well it doesn’t have to be jre, but yea I’d be surprised if he takes incoming freshmen. Maybe Scruggs instead of akinjo or zegarowski

Has Ed made his roster yet?? 12 person teams.
Which teams are doing an overseas trip this summer? Creighton is going to Australia in August.

Basketball at the 2019 Pan American Games

Basketball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru are scheduled to be held from July 27 to August 10. The competitions will take place at the Coliseo Eduardo Dibos.

This will be the first time a 3x3 basketball tournament will be contested, for men and women, bringing the total number of basketball events on the program to four. This was done after the International Olympic Committee added the events to the program of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.[1][2] A total of eight men's and eight women's teams (each consisting of up to twelve athletes) will compete in each five-a-side tournament respectively, and there will be a total of six teams in each 3x3 tournament (with four athletes per team). This means a total of 240 athletes are scheduled to compete.[3]

Participating nations
A total of eleven countries have qualified basketball teams so far. The numbers in parenthesis represents the number of participants qualified.

Argentina (24)
Brazil (12)
Canada (12)
Dominican Republic (12)
Mexico (12)
Paraguay (12)
Peru (32)
Puerto Rico (28)
United States (24)
Virgin Islands (24)
Uruguay (12)

Qualification
A total of eight men's teams and eight women's teams will qualify to compete at the games in the five-a-side tournaments. For the men's event, the host nation Peru, along with the top seven teams at the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup, have qualified to compete. In the women's event, the hosts Peru, along with the Olympic Champions the United States, have qualified to compete as well as the top six nations at the 2017 FIBA Women's AmeriCup.[3] This is a new system of qualification implemented by FIBA Americas.[4] For each 3x3 tournament, the hosts Peru and the top five teams in each gender in the world rankings as of November 1, 2018 will qualify.

Not really, he's still totally in play to come back. Anderson runs a system LJ would fit perfectly in. Up tempo press D, he'd be a 1st team BE player in that system.

Something to consider...should the US advance far enough in the Pan Am Games, the dates would conflict with Seton Hall's summer trip to Italy. Not sure if that would rule Powell out of the US/Big East squad or if he would miss (or join his teammates late for) the trip.

1 thing to remember- I believe roster sizes for international tournaments are 12, not 13.

Zegarowski won't be on Pan Am team. Dealing with hip and groin injuries that he played through this year and might not play for CU in Australia.

I made that comment right after he entered the portal and St. John’s looked headed for disaster in their coaching search. Circumstances seem to look a little better now and hopefully you’re right

Goodman's post of BE summer trips. Will affect availability of players for Panam Games.

Jeff Goodman
@GoodmanHoops

Bunch of Big East hitting the road on foreign tours this year:

Creighton - Aug. 1-13 (Australia)
DePaul - Aug. 3-14 (France, Italy)
Xavier - Aug. 7-15 (Spain)
Seton Hall - Aug. 7-16 (Italy)
Marquette - Aug. 9-18 (Spain, France)

I'd suspect the team will consist of players of non travel teams ( lots of Nova, Prov, Gtwn).
