cupcake games won't ever go away. You'll always have 4-5 of them. Just a budget thing if nothing else- teams have to have x number of home games to make things work financially.

I think the real thing to benefit will be not really your mid-majors, but more so the tweener conferences like the AAC and A10. I mean last year, the AAC had 2 teams in that 51-75 range that now become tier 1 road games. And 4 in that 101-135 range that now become tier 2 road games. If a team plays all 6 of those- that's a HUGE improvement.

tier 1- old 1-2 new 0-3
tier 2- old 1-2 new 1-2
tier 3- old 13-1 new 12-1
tier 4- old 11-1 new 13-0
tier 1-2- old 2-4 new 1-5
tier 1-3- old 15-5 new 13-6

So I'm just not seeing this magical help for them.....

What would your new favorite team, Wichita State, have looked like? They literally had no quality wins last year. And yet you annointed them a Top 10 team this year based on a loss to Kentucky.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

It goes without saying that the AAC will benefit.

looking-
Tier 1- old 2-4 new 2-3
tier 2- old 1-0 new 1-1
tier 3- old 12-0 new 12-0
tier 4- old 14-0 new 14-0
tier 1-2- old 3-4 new 3-4
tier 1-3 old 15-4 new 15-4

now, lets look at Cincy- as this is where the difference is....
tier 1- old 3-4 new 3-5
tier 2- old 3-1 new 7-0
tier 3- old 15-0 new 10-0
tier 4- old 8-0 new 9-0
tier 1-2 old 6-5 new 10-5
tier 1-3 old 21-5 new 20-5

having 4 more tier 2 wins is just huge. Also, no bad losses at all.
