Since Rodney Bullock's case has been raised, it should be noted that he potentially has 2 years of eligibility remaining. The 2nd year would not be automatic because it would involve a 6th year, so he would have to apply for it. But he would be eligible since his 2nd redshirt year was the result of a serious injury (torn ACL). Such situations have been approved before although there are still no guarantees.

Taking into consideration as to why he lost his 1st year I wouldn't expect it to be granted even if he was interested in it.

That may factor into it, but if it hadn't been for the torn ACL the next year, he would have had 4 years of eligibility. In other words, he was suspended for a year due to the assault incident but he wasn't penalized a year of eligibility. The guidelines are clear that if a major injury causes the loss of a second year of eligibility, there are grounds for an appeal. Bullock's case fits these guidelines.

As for the reason he lost the first year, the DA did not prosecute him because there was no evidence that he did anything. Brandon Austin was fingered as the bad guy in that case. Given that Bullock has been a model citizen since then and Austin has been a repeat offender, the succeeding history of the two players supports the DA's conclusions. Bullock has already punished for whatever role he may have had in the incident. He shouldn't be punished again. That's not to say that the NCAA WOULDN't do what you suggest. They've done stranger things.

don't think anyone mentioned it- but Bullock has declared for the NBA draft- not signing with an agent yet though...

Friar fans may disagree, but I don't think Bullock is that big of a loss. He disappears in key moments and doesn't provide much else besides scoring. Still plenty coming back. Turn the keys over to Cartwright and Diallo. More playing time for frosh bigs.

Bullock isnt leaving but I do agree with you. He would thrive as the 3rd of 4th guy on the team, he struggles as the teams first or second option

This has already been mentioned in another thread but Makai Ashton-Langford! That's a huge pickup for PC.
