Unless there is a buyout of some sort I don't think it really changes anything. Just gives Archie a little more leverage, which is good I guess.

I can promise you there is a buyout in this. Even Hewitt had a buyout at GMU.

This pretty much means Archie isn't going to leave for some middle of the pack P5 school. He'll still leave at some point, but it's going to be for a Top 15 program. He's only 36, Sean was 41 when he left for Arizona. IMO, and maybe I would've/am been wrong, I think Archie is at least committed to this sophomore class of Pollard, Smith and Davis. After that, all bets are off.

Another thing to remember, CBB has changed in the last 10 years. Schools like Dayton, Xavier, VCU, Wichita St, Zaga, ect are willing to pay big time money to keep coaches around. I'm willing to bet Archie's extension is upwards of 2 million a year. Laugh all you want about that and deny it but that's around what Shaka is getting at VCU now. Gonna are the days of Dayton or Xavier saying, "hey coach, here's 450K for you, wanna stay?"

That is all possibly true, I don't know the intricacies of the coaching landscape. But we had his older brother signed through 2018 and he left in 2009.

I think 1 thing to remember within a few years going to start to see a fairly big changeover. Several big name coaches getting up there in years. Coach K, Williams, Pitino, Boeheim come to mind obviously. But even some others aren't going to be around forever. Tom Izzo is 60 now. Billy Donovan- you just get the feeling he won't stick at Florida forever. Bo Ryan who is 67.

Then you have other programs who will be making a change for the other reason- lack of success. Indiana and Illinois comes to mind immediately.

So I think lots of top 15-25 programs will be opening up here in the next 3-4 years.

If Texas wants Miller, that contract isn't going to stop them.

Thanks, I updated the list to include McClain and Howland, and the Bradley opening.
Let me know if I've left anything out.

Hard to imagine Archie will be much hotter than he is right now, he's coming off a fantastic streak. Never know what's going through these guys minds.

Miller has all of his key players except Sibert coming back. Plus he has some size in RS McElvene. Dayton will be good again next year.

Haase signed an extension at UAB. His name was 'warm' with the run the Blazers had in the NCAA.

Nice Choices by Holy Cross and Penn.

I know the chances of it happening are pretty slim but I would love for Holy Cross to have a massive resurgence, and become a legit candidate to join the Big East in 7 or 8 years.

The rumors will not die down. First let me say Archie has made a believer out of me. To I'm a Xavier fan so it pains me to say good things about anything related to the Dayton program. I wrote last year's elite 8 run off as a fluke. I mean finishing 6th in the A-10 isn't anything to brag about. But what he did this year with a underman roster with no players over 6'6" speaks to his coaching skills. Picking up an NCAA win (Sorry play in games don't count in my book) and giving Oklahoma all it could handle was a magnificent accomplishment. I don't think his stock is every going to be higher than it is right now.

Archie might not move on this year, but soon he will get an offer that is too good to pass up. Don't get me wrong UD is a good job, the A-10 is a good enough league to get some respect. But any good program will have a winning record every year thanks to the bottom feeders. So UD should be a top 4 team in the league every year. That should have them in the bubble discussion or better every year. But UD as it stand right now is not a Great Job.

What if Indiana opens up? If it happens Miller would probably be one of the first names on the list, and there is no way he could turn down that job. I wouldn't be surprise if Syracuse opens up before next year. I could see Jimmy B, waiting until September to step down to force the university to take his guy to be the new coach. I could also see the president of Syracuse not like Jimmy B trying to name his successor, and try to steal Miller right before the start of the season. Oregon's head coach is on the Hot Seat, don't know if Archie would want to go up against his brother, but it would be hard to turn down Nike Money.

The only current job opening he would probably consider is St. Johns (Sorry DePaul fans, St John's is a much better job). St. Johns is set to explode if they ever get the right coach in place. For the league I would love him to land at St. Johns. Archie would have to consider it the job, if offered there would probably be a 25% chance he would take the job.
