Lavin doesn't have 1 tournament win and although this year has started to look a wee bit more promising there is a chance you guys lose not only all 4 of your Seniors but Obepka and Jordan as well. 1 Top 40 kid isn't going to replace that.

As far as I'm concerned unless Lavin gets 2 or 3 more guys, it is back to square one for St. John's next year. Most coaches had their 2015 classes set months ago.

Right now St. John's has a top 40 recruiting class, which will only get better if Briscoe comes as many expect.

I can't support a program in which there is not even basic human decency.

Really the only hope of getting rid of Willard would seem to be somebody outside the university blowing up the Sina thing. The university is obviously determined to sweep it under the rug. Hope the local media is digging. They won't have to dig very far if they are.

You seem to have an inside scoop. Please tell us what you're talking about. :?:

Briscoe is gone. Signed with Kentucky. Diallo is still a possibility. Lovett from Chicago and a few other targets are in sight.

St. John's can't do better than Lavin and SH can't do better than Willard. Both guys can recruit and both can coach. Each one has lineage.

Was going to ask this. Assuming the Hall's season continues trending the way it has, parting ways with Willard is the most logical option, but is it realistic?

Of course, I said nearly the exact same thing about PC four years ago with Keno Davis, so who knows?

I remember when Jay Wright had a Top 5 recruiting class who didn't get it going until their Junior years. Even with St. John's their success came when all of Norm's recruits were Seniors. St. John's showing signs of life again and 4 of their top 6 players are Seniors.

Again, unless Lavin, gets a guy like Diallo and somebody else to commit, they are far from fine.

Also Jordan has been saying he is gone before the season even began. I don't know what that means but he is FAR from definitely returning next season.

Where is Jordan going? Is he transferring? He's improved a lot over his freshman year, but he certainly isn't ready for the NBA.

Jordan has had too many off court issues for any NBA team to give him a setious look as a free agent, let alone draft him. With his family situation (which has resulted in him leaving for Philly far too often), I don't see him wanting to go to Europe. Unless he is ok with making $25,000/yr in the NBDL, his best option is to return next year and improve his stock. We'll see.

Obekpa is almost certainly coming back.

Lavin has made a NCAA tourny at St. John's. Willard has yet to do that with anyones players. Lavin's team finished tied for 3rd in the Big East last year (2nd time his SJU finished 3rd in BE play) While Willard has finished 8th last year and in the 16 team BE his best finish was 9th. Lavin has had 1 losing season at SJU ( the year he had only 6 freshman playing). WIllard has had only 1 winning record at SH.

You can say that they are the same but that is far from the case. While Lavins tenure is considered so far kind of a disappointment it is far better than what Seton Hall has accomplished.

Oh and what we have for next year right now is Obekpa, Jordan (he isn't leaving), the younger De la Rosa brother, Sampson, Alibegovich and Balimou coming back. We wont be the preseason favorite but we have some nice pieces returning and a couple of good freshmen coming in. Lavin always does his recruiting in the spring. Watch out for some pieces fall into place then.
