Saw that Briscoe has been talking with Sampson as well. If he wasn't seriously considering St Johns then we wouldn't be reaching out to these guys like he is I think this is a good sign

Heres what your probably referring to. And I couldnt agree with you more, the big thing is Sampson isnt looking at any of the other schools that Briscoe is looking at.

It's the first step (again). This is the part Lavin's good at. He's a salesman, and no stranger to big time recruiting classes. What will make it a game changer is if he (finally) figures out how to turn big time recruiting classes into results on the court.

Breaking: someone has been told by a reliable source that SJ is going to get 2 verbals very soon. If Briscoe is one of the 2 and this isn't a sick joke I will be ecstatic and it will be another top recruiting class right after Marquette just got some great players and SHU got some great ones. Could be huge. Correction: 2 verbals this weekend with a 3rd coming shortly after…still just a rumor obviously but we will see.

Not getting my hopes up though I'm disappointed way too much to expect great news.

Speaking of SJU possibly pulling off a big coup... Rumors on the Nova Rivals (pay) board is that of a Billy Donovan to NYC/SJU next year if Lavin has another disappointing year. Can't imagine that happening but I guess you never know. Maybe possible a wealthy SJU alum is willing to offset some of that cost for the school to offer a can't-miss national coach should SJU not make a big step forward this year. Would Donovan turn down a $7 year $60M deal?

Yes I read Redmen, but I'm banned from posting because I'm not 50 years old plus or a yes man both of which seem to be prerequisites to be an accepted member on that site. I have heard tons of other complaints from people messaging me personally who also post on there. Lots of people hate the politics of the site. I just sit back and laugh. It's a shame though, I see people asking questions on the site that I can answer like where to get a "Once A Johnny Always a Johnny" shirt (I have an extra one and they are not for sale in any store). I just saw Rysheed Jordan on campus before…walked right past him. He is crazy tall for a guard every bit that 6'4. Pumped for tipoff tonight. We need these recruits in the worst way.

That Redmen.com site is a weird site. I posted something and the moderator emails me and tells me to check earlier posts by other people and be sure I don't repeat what other people have already posted. Then I returned to Redmen.com months later to post a comment and the moderator banned me from posting anything new. The heck with that website. Lazy moderators with attitudes. The moderator gave me 1 warning and I'm suppose to remember that months later ? Holylandhoops is so much better !
