Butler fans probably won't take this too well, but I really think they are becoming the Dayton of the league.
I would welcome going 9-9 in the league at this point. Granted, I wasn't around Dayton-X, but I got the impression that Dayton fans always thought they would be awesome, then might tease their fans a little by doing well in the non-conference before inevitably ending up around a .500 mark in the A-10 and going to the NIT.
Is it because we have a non-scholarship football team that plays in the PFL? I guess I'll need some clarification on your comment before I can decide whether or not to be offended. At this point it seems like something to strive for.

and they seem to think college basketball was invented in 2000 (probably because Wisconsin failed to make the NCAAs once between 1948 and 1993.)

We should have that here, especially when some idiot like this tries to paint one of our institutions with a false brush.
He continues to come to this site to insinuate that Xavier is in financial trouble. Schools that finance a $19 million classroom renovation out of free cash flow - no debt involved - aren't in financial trouble. Schools involved in 9 digit development projects (over 2 phases) aren't in financial trouble. Schools that refinance their debt through strong debt ratings to improve their financing capacity aren't in financial trouble. Budget adjustments are just that: adjustments.
UD has a mediocre basketball program and a major locational problem: Dayton. UD is exactly where it should be: not in the Big East. This guy is jealous of Xavier. That should not be our problem here.
UD FAN, take a hike. You're a classless asshole who stepped over the line - again - with your idiotic insinuation. It gives me great pleasure knowing you are stuck, having to root for the Cryers.
