DePaul's only returning Seniors will be Forrest Robinson, Greg Sequele, and Jamee Crockett. If DePaul doesn't finish outside the Big East Conference cellar, Head Coach Oliver Purnell's days at DePaul would likely be numbered. Even without Melvin, DePaul only lost by one basket to Marquette at home (Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL).

I'm pleased as a fan of the Big East that you are encouraged by DePaul's roster this year. One can only hope that it translates to a more competitive team especially in the non-con portion of its schedule so that the Blue Demons have a decent RPI heading into Conference play.

I must note that pointing to a one-basket defeat at home against a team that finished in the bottom half of the league in 2013-2014 is not what most programs' fans would consider a high point of the season even with player departures. Most reasonably successful programs suffer long-term injuries and others experience both suspensions, defections, and injuries, but their fans still expect good results from among those remaining on scholarship and even walk-ons. Xavier's 21-13 record, a trip to the NCAA, and a 3rd-place finish in its first Big East season in 2014 was a definite disappointment to most (of us spoiled) Muskie fans.

Is Tommy Hamilton IV related to the Thomas Hamilton from Chicago King in the early 90s?
