The dean of Big Ten baseball coaches says the league should move the season to summer, which would likely leave its teams out of the NCAA tournament.
Minnesota's John Anderson said the Big Ten would benefit from playing April to August when the weather is better. He says cold and snow, along with Big Ten recruiting rules, make it difficult for the conference to compete on equal footing with power programs.

What if they're also looking to partner up with the Big East on a move to Summer Baseball?

I could imagine a scenario where the B1G wants to move baseball to summer but wants a major partner (even though the Big East is not a baseball power). If combined with the MAC and perhaps A-10, summer baseball could have a critical mass to host its own tournament.
Anywho, merely spitballing here.

You don't think Fox can get a property? Shocking! I bet in a few months you'll just say Fox can get it but it will just be bad news for the Big East somehow, like our championship game will be forced to FS2. hahahaha
NJRedman wrote:We can still do that without giving up MSG. Us giving up MSG is like the B1G giving up it's Rose Bowl tie in.

And I'm not suggesting "giving up" MSG, but allowing the B1G to use it on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon for their semifinals and final.

I don't think Fox has a shot at the Big Ten tournament, no. Not with CBS. Big Ten tournament has been a mainstay on CBS for years- like every year EVER since they started in 1998. Very tough to see the Big Ten leaving that exposure... It's been Big Ten final and then the NCAA brackets reveal. Note, I didn't say that Fox couldn't get a piece of the Big Ten, but the tournament is a completely different animal. If anything, they could get early round coverage, but given that FS1 has the Big East, that's going to limit that possibility big time even with the early rounds...
Wednesday- Big East 1st rd(2 games), Big 10 1st rd(2 games)- can't do
Thursday- Big East QF(4 games), Big Ten 2nd rd(4 games)- can't do
Friday- Big East SF(2 games), Big Ten QF(4 games)- could do day session of Big Ten
So best case would be the day session of the QF for the Big Ten. Not exactly a home run or something that the Big Ten would look at favorably. just isn't a match quite frankly. I just love how you think Fox can wave it's wand and just get anything it wants for FS1. Just not realistic at all.
