DePaul is going to be a very dangerous program in the Big East with this building in that city with all those players.

They'll most likely make a big dollar hire to coincide with the completion of the project to ride the wave of momentum. Could you imagine someone like Scott Drew, with the way he recruits, in Chicago with that building?

In major cities like Chicago and New York it's hard to build new arenas. DePaul would have needed the Mayors office to back them and they probably wouldn't be okay with TWO arenas being built. Especially when the one they wanted would lose a tenant. I don't think a close to campus arena was in the cards for DePaul. I don't think they would have gotten the proper backing by the local govt to make it happen.

DePaul seems to have more clout in the city than people give them credit for. Keep in mind,in the past the United Center tried their hardest to make this deal not happen.

"The United Center, on Chicago's West Side, had been offering free rent for at least 10 years, plus all ticket revenue"
"We really threw the kitchen sink at them," said Wirtz, who owns the Chicago Blackhawks.

Good thing DePaul seen through those false good intentions.

Brand new renderings of the new arena. I assume these are pretty much final.

Looks pretty cool. I wonder if they'll have graduation there. We graduated at Allstate which wasn't bad because it was near a major highway and the airport as well. It would be good for Chicago if graduation was at this new place that way friends and family would spend money IN Chicago.

Looks nice. Only question is why in the bottom photo are their banners for Notre Dame, LSU, Texas and Wisconsin? It actually looks like there are 2 Wisconsin and ND banners up. Not a big deal, that just looked funny when I started looking at what was hanging up there.

These look great. I wish the court colors were Royal Blue and Scarlet (DePaul's school colors) black is fine for thin trim and all but this court looks like their school colors are Blue and Black. Also the front facing Blue Demon head logo would look much better at center court than the very busy primary logo.

This looks excellent, but I wish it was on the former A. Finkl & Sons Co. property in Lincoln Park (which is slated to be turned into in industrial park) as that would be walkable from the Lincoln Park Campus.
