Creighton will certainly have a different look next year and you can't help but drop off some after losing a NPOY and three other experienced seniors who account for most of your offenseive production, but we will be competitive. What we lose in Wragge's shooting, we will gain in defense. In some respect, that is the same for Gibbs. What we lose in Manigat's defense, I think we will gain in more conistent offensive production from the 2/3 spot. We will have much more solid post defense - particularly if Will Artino hits the weights hard this summer and Zac Johnson (bigger body) continues to develop over the summer. We will have experienced and very good guards in Austin and Zierden (assuming he fully recovers from the knee injury - which by all reports he will), and we add some really athletic wings to the mix who are redshirting or incoming freshman. Of course, no one knows how quickly or abley those fellas will adapt to big time college ball. If they can, then we will still be very competitive and should be chasing a spot in the NCAA. If the freshmen are a little slower to develop, then probably the NIT is a realistic goal. B
ut, I am going to worry about that next year. For now, I am hoping our current group will have the werewithall to get us to the second weekend. They have fallen just short of 2 of their 3 major goals. I am hoping they don't miss the third one.
