This is a meaningless discussion, but if you determine CU and VU should be right next to each other in the polls, how can you have VU ahead of CU?

You're right it's meaningless especially when considering that KU is ahead of Nova and that L'ville jumped us both with a less than stellar resume. And don't get me started on Duke. Polls are subjective. Nova's losses have only come to top 10 teams. They have an RPI of 4. Do you think their ranking is unwarranted?

no, i actually think they deserve to be ranked higher. Ranking Kansas this high is ridiculous. I get the SOS of 1, but they have six losses. What if they had 10 losses? 3 seed? lol.

I don't care that nova is ranked ahead....I accept it. I just look up to those results that total up to 49. Roll jays!!!

I think it is super. This new "upstart league" needs all of the positive it can get.

Because they're not looking just at head-to-head or even conference standings. With Villanova's wins over Kansas and Iowa, both teams have 2 wins vs the top 25 and 5 vs the top 50, but Nova is 10-0 vs 50-100 while Creighton is 9-2. I think that's where Nova gets their edge.

The polls don't really matter, RPI is the point of reference for the committee. After that, it's analysis of schedules, quality wins, etc. Right now their rankings in the polls are basically a tie. The Big East tournament will be the tie breaker.

What is wrong with this picture?
Louisville - RPI TOP 100 5-4
Villanova - RPI TOP 100 12-3
Creighton - RPI TOP 100 12-4

Can someone explain to me how Louisville wins by one over Cincinnati and jumps over Villanova and Creighton?

There's always 1 or 2 wild votes. John Feinstein voting for American U was pretty interesting (although he's higher on SLU than most, so he gets a pass).

Nova and Creighton in the top 10 and we have teams like SJ, Xavier, etc. who can crack the top 25 next year. If SJ would have closed out games the team would probably be #24 right now. Same for PC if they closed out Nova. I don't think PC has a good chance next year since they lose Cotton. CU loses virtually everyone so they will likely not be ranked. It's time for G'Town, SJ, and SHU to step up to the plate. We look like we are on our way to doing that and I think making the tourney means we step up to the plate. A ranking would be gravy. Not worried about G'Town...too good of a program to be down for too long before reloading with monsters. SHU losing a lot of talent but also starting fresh with a very promising new class. Marquette is another team I'm not worried about for the same reason as G'Town.

As CU and PC and maybe Xavier (if Christon is gone) are on the decline losing their big names, we need other teams to step up. I also think Nova is very good but clearly overachieving. No one saw this coming, not even the most homer Nova fans. Hopefully they are a top 25 team next year. They may not slay 2 dragons to get in the top 25 so quickly next year. Hope I'm wrong. If the other guys don't step up I'm worried this may be a conference with no rankings next year.

Villanova will easily be ranked next year, they only lose one starter (Bell). Georgetown will still have DSR and maybe Smith to go along with a great recruiting class. SJU should be better and Xavier should be the same (w/o Christon) or easily ranked (w/Christon) due to their great recruiting class. SHU should be ALOT better as well. The only teams that will be worse next year will likely be Creighton, DePaul (maybe) and PC (maybe, but they have a great recruiting class). Everyone else will be the same or better IMO.
