Im gonna go out on a limb and say that DePaul gets a really good home win, followed by Villanova taking advantage of their home crowd and getting the win, Ill also pick Marquette to win and hopefully get them some confidence and chemistry moving forward...

I thought that everyone on this board has to root for chalk every game. Well atleast that's what they tell us SHU fans, anyway.

So I guess I'll start the "I hope DePaul loses this game" mantra! Come on, who else is with me?!?!?!?

.....

But in all seriousness. I think FS1 should make New Year's Eve and MLK Day "Showcase Days". Days were all teams are scheduled to play.

I just cant help but root for DePaul and SHU. Like PC, they have been bottom of the BE for too long and its nice to see them play hard, competitive basketball and get rewarded with some W's. Plus, for me personally, I would be a little bit disappointed if one of the newcomers came in and won the BE crown outright in their first season in the league

Why pick one? Let's do both.

I thought STever made a compelling complaint about the new cfb playoffs dominating that weekend, but whatever. My main point is that I could see mlk day being a more feasible date to create BE tradition around.

Nova is also -5.5 against Creighton tomorrow. Figure the home advantage is about 3 pts and your looking at an even matchup.

Xavier figures to beat DePaul, but the game should be competitive. One of these games, DePaul is going to pull a big upset. If this is that game, I wouldn't be surprised.

Villanova should beat Creighton, but I expect The Jays to play a better game than they did on Sarurday. I expect that the long trip was a factor in their play at the Dunk. they should have their Wast Coast legs on the ground by Monday night so the game should be competitive.

Normally Marquette-Georgetown would be expected to be a close game with GU winning at home. However, the injury factor makes the Hoyas ripe for the plucking. I expect another Georgetown loss.

I am terrified of this DePaul game. No matter how well X has been playing recently, we know this team can disappear at any time as seen in late Nov/early Dec. Obviously, I think X will win but I haven't been this nervous yet for a Big East game. Also, Xavier still only has one road win, so a loss now with Providence looming on the weekend would be especially bad.

AP poll is out. Villanova up to 4th, Creighton drops out and is positioned as 26th, still with 98 votes which is 13 behind 25th place. Xavier only other Big East school with any votes, at 4.

Nice of Fox to bump us off of FS1 for the 3rd straight game. This one especially baffling given the 4:00 start time. Are they afraid of upsetting the 4 people watching Crowd Goes Wild?

I really don't understand why the subject of travel affecting play but it comes up pretty frequently. I can understand how a trip from the West Coast (last I checked Omaha was pretty much in the center of the US - in fact, Omaha is east of Dallas) to the East Coast with a three hour time change might have an affect on the players, particularly if they were going to play a noon game. But a couple hour plane flight and a one hour time change should have negligible effect. In fact, it is probably easier than taking a bus trip for a couple hours.

People make a big deal out of traveling but these college basketball teams don't travel the same way us common folk do. Some of the non-revenue sports certainly do, I've been on plenty of flights with women's basketball and volleyball players, track teams, soccer teams, etc - who do fly commercial and deal with layovers at O'Hare, DFW, etc. But the Big East men's basketball teams don't have to deal with this.
