Thing is it's really getting late for a lot of teams already...
to get to 20 wins- not even a lock for some of these teams...
Georgetown 9-5
Providence 8-6(probably would need more than that- at 20-11 RPI forecast is only 55.2- which isn't good enough)
Marquette 10-4
DePaul 10-3
Seton Hall 10-4
Butler 10-3
St John's 11-3

these projected RPI's show that to me big time.

Another thing to remember this season. From all the brackets we've seen projected so far, the bottom 21 spots give or take 1 are the auto bid teams. So that means if you are 50th RPI where maybe normally you would be feeling fairly safe, you are in some trouble this year. That's why Georgetown is so precarious right now. 18-12 their rpi is 49.4. Fairly safe. But at 17-13, their projected RPI is only 59.3. They have really no wiggle room at all right now. Monday's game with Marquette is just huge.

Agree, every team still has a couple of "the sky is falling" periods left in the season. SJ already has several under its belt, so maybe things are looking up for them.

I'd rather have a Villanova vs Creighton National Championship game and two teams in than 5 teams in and no FF teams...

I think anyone would sign up for that, but the odds are slim. The more teams you have in the tournament the better the chance that one of them makes a run. You never know when teams with talent will gel. The 1997 PC team went in as a 10 seed after under-achieving all year. They ended losing in the Elite 8 in OT to eventual champion Arizona (and PC had two shots in the final seconds of regulation to win that Arizona game). 4 of the 5 starters on that PC team touched an NBA floor (most very briefly) but they almost missed the NCAA. Once they got it together, they were as good as any team in the nation.
