Is 43 bucks for the cheapest possible ticket typical or normal for the Big East, or for St. John's? As a Creighton fan, that's more than face value for a seat on our team's bench, I think. I was hoping for something more reasonable, figuring that game wouldn't draw a huge crowd or anything. I will probably just swing the 43 if necessary, but like I said, I figured you could get something reasonably cheap with a place as big as that.

Edit: And thanks for the response.

At the Dunk:
All good seats. No bad views.
Upper level end zones and corners are around $12 dollars per seat.
They get progressively higher as you come around from the corner.
Upper level at 50-yard line is around $32.
Lower level at 50-yard line is around $60 maybe?

For Marquette v. Creighton the range is $26-96. Nova is $28-101. Georgetown is $28-168. Those are our three most expensive remaining games. I remember some students were selling their Ohio State tickets for $75.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Is scalping legal in outside the arena in New York? And is it a safe bet that somebody will have tickets for sale before these games?

Thanks for the tips.

Scalping laws vary from state to state, NY is illegal but you can get it in NJ. People scalp in front of MSG all the time, just make sure they are real tickets, there are fake ones out there. What you can do is go over to the ticketing counter to make sure it is legit. Have someone nearby stay with the dude or have him walk up with you.

Never buy from Craigslist.

If you are not comfortable with buying from a scalper you can go to stubhub, it's basically the same thing but they "guarantee" it's real.

Welcome to New York. Even across the river in New Jersey, Seton Hall tickets aren't much cheaper. They've got two $20 face value sections behind the basket, then they go up to $65 I believe. And that's before Ticketmaster fees.

I would avoid buying from scalpers. You could end up buying a counterfeit ticket & not know until you go inside to have your ticket scanned. It was easier back in the old days when tickets were actually torn and you were left with a stub. I would try stubhub or even ebay, I have gotten tickets thru both with no problems. Even the tickets with a stub were counterfeited in NYC. Knew a guy who bought fake tickets outside of MSG for the 1998 NBA All Star game the day before the game. Ouch. They looked perfect.

New York Scalping laws linked below. Because of the 1,500 feet buffer, many scalpers at MSG who are trying to unload tickets at face value will ask you to walk a couple of blocks from MSG.

I've had good luck on stubhub for SJU tickets. Despite the fact that I live about 12 blocks from MSG, I actually like going to games at Carnesecca. Can usually grab some really, really good tickets on stubhub and you are right near the action.

Individuals who purchase tickets solely for their own use or use of their invitees, employees and agents or individuals who purchase tickets on behalf of others and resells such tickets to invitees, employees and agents or others at or less than the established price are exempt from the licensure requirement. However, even those individuals who are exempt from licensure are prohibited from reselling tickets within a defined buffer zone of 1,500 feet from the physical structure or ticket office of a venue having a permanent seating capacity in excess of 5,000 persons and within 500 feet of the physical structure or ticket office of a venue having a permanent seating capacity of 5,000 or fewer persons.

Your best bet if you aren't a SJ student is to call the box office on campus and pick them up if you are in the area. That way it's only $40 without shipping or other fees that can add $15-20 more.
