But this board has spoken, Nova is a mediocre, middle of the road, run of the mill, NIT team.

Says who? Even before Marquette got spanked I thought Nova had a legitimate chance of being a top 15 team and winning the conference. Nova is a rock. Consistent, always good, always competitive, and always starts out with little hype but always seems to make the tourney and knock off some big guys.

That's a slight exaggeration, but it's pretty much been this whole boards opinion all off-season that Nova isn't as good as Marquette, Creighton, Georgetown, St. John's, and maybe Providence. I'm just preparing everyone for the "I told you so", later in the year if Nova is as good as I think they're going to be.

I used to get made fun of on a SJ board for saying how good Nova is and how well-run a program it is. I don't think it's an exaggeration at all. Nova can shoot the ball, can play in the paint, does a great job drawing fouls, and is run by great coaches. They play with great chemistry. They made the tourney last year and gave UNC everything they could handle. Nova is also one of those teams that seems to have SJ's number. Whenever we play you guys we play you close and lose it seems except for 2011 when we won big. If I had to pick the most consistent winner in the conference I'd say either G'Town or Nova. You guys have a mold that I want us to replicate. You have basketball players. We have athletes. And I think the difference is obvious.

Oh, I meant my original post that you quoted was a slight exaggeration. I pretty much made up the mediocre & run of the mill parts, but middle of the pack & NIT team has been used by some members of this board to describe Nova this off-season.

Villanova played a perfect game today. A fun team to watch. Great release on those 3's by Hilliard. Guys play great together. Excellent press. They're gonna have a big year. FS1 college hoops is a dream for all basketball fans... I've been taping the games, then watching them later that night once the kids go to bed. Stu Jackson did a great job announcing too.

And there are 2 Big East games each of the next 2 nights on FS1 and FS2.

I picked Villanova to finish 2nd, so I'm on board with you. There are a few of us around here.

Well, if it helps at all you can safely cross PC off of that list with Dunn out and Austin and Bullock suspended.
