24/7 Conf Recruiting Class Rankings (2014-18):
1. PC. 4 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 2 = 17
2. Nova. 5 - 4 - 7 - 4 - 1 = 21
3. G'twn. 1 - 3 - 10 - 6 - 3 = 23
4t. X. 2 - 10 - 3 - 1 - 8 = 24
4t. CU. 6 - 6 - 5 - 3 - 4 = 24
6. Marq. 9 - 1 - 1 - 7 - 10 = 28
7. SJU. 10 - 2 - 2 - 9 - 6 = 29
8. SHU. 3 - 8 - 8 - 5 - 7 = 31
9t. BU. 7 - 9 - 6 - 8 - 9 = 39
9t. Dep. 8 - 7 - 9 - 10 - 5 = 39
- This does not take into account transfers which teams like X, SJU and CU have seemed to do very well with.
Observations:
+ The 4 year stretch by VU is historic in the BE; I think only the 82-85 Hoyas can compare in terms of a 4 year stretch of excellence within all of college hoops
+ X has been the clear #2 since inception, and solidified that last year with the BE champ banner
+ The Butler Way; often doubted but they simply deliver
+ PC is poised for a breakthrough. Cooley continues to gather talent, but needs to make a statement in March sooner than later
+ Still waiting on G'town and Marq. to return to consistent prominence and for SJU and DePaul to awaken from their multi-decade slumbers . If that happened, this league would be ridiculous.
+ 57 NCAA games played in the first 5 years --11.4 per year for the entire conference. Not bad.
+5 years in we've got (2) NC's, (2) NPOY's a NCOY and have been consistently in the top 5 for conference RPI.
