Two Big East games tonight, both on FS1...

7pm, Marquette at St John's, FS1.
9pm, Creighton at Butler, FS1.

Two great matchups.

Butler has 5 of their next 6 at home. BU hosts Seton Hall on Sunday.
Creighton follows tonight's game with a road game at Villanova on Sunday night.
St John's gets Duke on Sunday at MSG.
Marquette follows tonight's game with 3 home games, Sat-Wed-Sat, vs Georgetown, Seton Hall and Butler, in that order.

These are the nights that are critical. If St John's or Butler gets upset- it really hurts them as home losses count 1.4 towards the RPI records- and is where you see the big RPI dips.

Two great matchups?

One involves a team that has literally lost every big east game this season.

The other involves two teams that are on a current trajectory to play in the NIT.

If we're a power conference we should be able to call out bad basketball when it happens.

Creighton fan here.

We stink.

Not a great matchup at all. I fully expect Butler to beat us by more than 10. We have a roster full of role players at the moment, and this season directly reflects that.

Yeah, the first game, at MSG, involves teams that have combined to beat Syracuse, Minnesota, St Mary's, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Arizona State and Providence twice, and whose last matchup against each other went double overtime.

The other game involves teams that have both been ranked this year, and that have combined to beat North Carolina, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Xavier, Seton Hall, St John's and Georgetown.

Gotta love Georgetown fans,

Win one big game and start throwing shots at other teams in the conference. Georgetown squeaked by Marquette at home this year and got worked by St. John's at the end of last season, you aren't in any position to act like gtown is head and shoulders above everyone after one big win

Speaking less in terms of wins, I actually think the first one is a good matchup in terms of size/skillsets. Smaller teams with one true big man, not great rebounding teams, hard-nosed on defense with lots of scoring coming from the backcourt. Should be a good one... Johnnies in a must win scenario here I'd have to imagine.

I am excited for these games. This week is very important for the favorites to hold serve.

I am not ready to write of st john's season yet, but this week is really do or die time. They sweep this week, they are in good shape. They get swept this week and their season is over. They split and they are still on the bubble (win v duke would be the preferred win for resume purposes)

Butler needs to continue to do their thing. Excited to see if they can be businesslike in a game they should win.

Big props to fox sports one for delivering this desired content into my living room thousands of miles away.

Creighton has lost 2 of the last 3 games on last second shots.
Another game down 2 at the half to Georgetown.
Another game was an OT loss to St Mary's.
Only 2 bad games, against DePaul and North Texas.
If Creighton was in the ACC, you'd be ahead of 6 different teams.

Having said that, tough matchup vs Butler because they're a great rebounding team.
