Just updated at http://www.holylandofhoops.net

Big East highlights:
-Creighton moved up to a three seed, more of a product of teams around them all losing, some with some bad loses. The Jays continue to receive a lot of love from the computers and they currently rank in the top ten of several major metrics including the RPI.

-Villanova is another team moving up this week back to a two seed. A nice road win coupled with a non-con win over Temple moved the Wildcats back on the two line and in great shape to make a run at the one seed if they win out the next two weeks.

-Xavier took a bad loss this weekend losing to Seton Hall. Not that losing to the Pirates is bad as they having been playing well of late but home losses are hard to make up. The Musketeers didn't really lose any ground in the bracket though as they are still in the 8-9 game.

-Providence remains in the field despite a loss. The Friars are in the play-in game. As we have seen in the past, teams can go a long way from the opening night in Dayton.

You have Pitt/Cal as the 6/11 in the East and West brackets.

Updated today.

Big East notes:

-Creighton, with two wins over Villanova, moves on to the two line. The Jays moved to the two line not only because of their wins but because some others suffered losses.
-Villanova dropped to a three seed after their loss to Creighton. The Wildcats still have great computer numbers and with a few more wins could quickly be back on the two line.
-Xavier, despite a loss this week, remains firmly in the field. With the conference profile strengthening and with a favorable schedule the rest of the way out the Musketeers should stay firmly in the field in the 8-9 range.
-Georgetown remains in the field despite the loss to St Johns. With so many teams on the bubble losing the Hoyas actually moved up a line. Speaking of the Red Storm they join the field after another big win on Sunday. They need to continue to take care of business and improve their resume if they want to feel safe on Selection Sunday

Updated today - Feb 24.

Big East notes:
-Creighton stayed on the two line this week with an undefeated week. The Jays should remain with a win next Saturday at Xavier. A loss could push them to a four, depending on how the teams on the three line do.
-Villanova solidly in at a three seed and a two seed is still in play. The Cats have a favorable schedule the rest of the way out and by the time the bracket is announced we could see two Big East teams on the two line.
-Xavier dropped to a ten seed this week. The Musketeers can not afford many more losses before they will be in some danger. Only one quality win could hurt if additional losses pile up.
-Georgetown, St John’s and Providence are all on the wrong side of the bubble this week. The Friars and Red Storm both came close to upsetting Villanova which would have been a signature win that both need. Three weeks from now, I think one if not two of these teams will be in the field if they take care of business.
