It absolutely was a gamble to go with a start up like FS1. Money doesn't buy everything. You act like TV money is the only thing that matters- and that's a complete joke.

Actually it's not a joke at all. Fox NEEDS exposure. The Big East doesn't.

Big East financing is set for the next decade. Guaranteed. If Fox wants to pay it's bills, they NEED to increase viewership. They're the ones with the motivation to make something happen now. The Big East can afford to wait 10 years.

Meanwhile Big East fans have somewhere to go to watch their games. Or they can buy tickets and watch the games in person. Right now the league doesn't have a problem. Fox does.

Agree 100%

And the ten FOX national games are huge exposure and make up for any deficiency with fox sports one in the short term

Had we stayed with espn we would have had what, a half dozen prime slots (like conference of Americans has now)? The east a bunch of espn3 interweb streams and espn news garbage? Fs1 is better than the espn news and espn 3 garbage, and the fox national games make up for the few prime espn slots we would have been allocated. Oh yeah, and fox appreciates us and touts us as a major conference and markets us during NFL games and other benefits like the inside the big east show and the big east pregame shows.

We hit the lottery.

Just a quick aside: I had ESPN's Around the Horn on I think 2 days ago - background noise mainly; TV just happened to be on - and on comes a commercial for soccer matches. On this particular commercial on ESPN, ESPN was "advertising" two matches, with one taking place on ESPN and the other taking place on FoxSports1!

Yeah, I think there is some sort of agreement for the MLS games. FS1 advertises the doubleheaders on Sunday which includes the ESPN game.

Yep, the same as the NFL does it. I see at playoff time for the NBA and MLB.
