George Washington just beat Wichita State to win the Diamond Head Classic. Good result for Seton Hall as it likely vaults their win over GW into the good win category. The Colonials should finish non-con play at 10-3 (losses all on the road to UVA, SHU, and PSU- who have a combined 3 losses and are unbeaten at home). They were then picked 2nd in the A10 preseason poll, but they've looked every bit as good as VCU so far and could certainly win the conference.

Um but now that blow out loss to WSU looks even worse.

Even worse? As if it was bad to begin with? Barring a complete collapse, Wichita State will remain a top 25 team throughout the season and may stay unbeaten at home. No team is gonna be heavily penalized for losing to a top 25 team on the road. However, the neutral court win will likely gain GW some national attention and a strong season in conference play could have them flirting with the top 25, thus giving Seton Hall's resume the big non conference win that it currently lacks. GW winning helps more than WS losing hurts.

Florida St beat Florida by 2 in Tallahassee.

Noteworthy just because they won on a last second tip in by Florida into the FSU basket!

I really hope that Georgetown isn't counting on Florida as being our top OOC win. They're now 7-5 and have a 116 RPI. Unless they go like 12-6 in conference play, they're going to be square on the bubble.

big game late in the WCC- Pepperdine upset BYU tonight at BYU(those are the big ones). Going into the game- Pepperdine was RPI 227 and BYU was 31. After the game- Pepperdine is 186 and BYU down to 44.

1 thing that is happening is some of the other conferences are just way down this year. WCC may only get 1 tourney team this year. BYU going to be really bubble big time. That's why AAC getting 4 in wouldn't surprise me whatsoever. And it's partially why we have a real shot at 7 teams.

Clemson 71, Pitt 62. at Pitt.
Edit ---> Clemson lost to Wofford among others.

Pitt's supposed to finish 6-12 in the ACC and tied for 9th.

It's amazing how all the ACC fanboys were saying how darn awesome the ACC was going to be- best conference ever- and they may not even be the best conference in the country this year. No where near as good as the old Big East was.

Today a shocker:

Rutgers 67, Wisconsin 62. <--- at Rutgers.

The first win vs a top-5 ranked team in Rutgers' history... apparently their road to the 1976 Final Four avoided top teams.

That is amazing. Would have thought they just on a fluke would have gotten 1 win in the Big East against a top 5 team.

Just looking in 1976- they beat Princeton, UConn, and VMI- before losing to Michigan and UCLA. Princeton 22-5, UConn 19-10, VMI 22-10. Hardly murderers row there. Not only no top 5 teams- but no RANKED teams either. (as an aside, amazing to see teams with only 27 and 29 games after the season is complete. Heck 32 games for a team losing in the 3rd round is remarkable now in days as well).
