Nothing against Maine, Chattanooga, and Loyola, but they aren't anywhere near the vicinity of North Carolina in terms of offense (or defense for that matter).
Hope you guys are able take out the Tarheels on Wednesday! All of us Creighton fans will be rooting hard for you!

Sorry. Didn't realize I didn't JUST say that.

It's only 3 games in.

I'm not ready to go off the deep end, call it a season, scream for Wojo's head, or anything like that. I'm sincerely disappointed and troubled by this loss. I didn't expect to be an NCAA or even necessarily NIT team this year, but I had this one chalked up as a win. They will get better, Fischer will help, it will still be a down year. We will be better next season, I will keep going to games (already sprung for the season tix), and I'll buy again next year. It's just very deflating.

On November 19, 2005, Marquette lost to Winthrop at home, and finished 4th in the Big East.
On December 6, 2006, Marquette lost to North Dakota State at home, and went to the Tournament.
On November 29, 2008, Marquette got run out of the gym by Dayton, and if Lazar Hayward trims his toenails, they go to the Sweet 16, and maybe further.
On November 21, 2011, Marquette beat Norfolk State on a neutral floor by two, and went to the Sweet 16.
On December 19, 2012, Marquette lost to UW-Green Bay, and three months later, were Big East Champions and en route to the Elite 8.

It's early in the season. These things happen.
Al McGuire: "What is this?"
Waiter: "Mr. McGuire, that is a cull lobster. Sometimes when the lobsters are in the tank, they fight. This one lost a claw."
Al McGuire: "Well then take this one away and bring me the winner."

Yeah, and don't forget last year Syracuse lost to some non D1 school and then went undefeated or something for half the year. Clearly that won't happen this year, but it's not panic time yet. We've been able to score pretty well (much better than last year) against different types of defenses, we just have a ton of inexperienced players playing together for the first time now. Buzz hardly played JuJuan, Juan, or Steve Taylor last year and now they're being asked to suddenly play 20+ minutes.

Derrick is the only player to have averaged over 13.5 minutes a game for Marquette last year (he averaged 30). And those who even averaged around that (12.6, 13.5, 13.5, 10.3) did most of that in the early part of the season.

Word is we will be going to a zone now.

No worries, not panicking. I'm no SJHooper-sky-is-falling type. Young team, little experience, not size (yet). You expect inconsistent results. I was disappointed by the last game, but we are back in the saddle tonight. LET'S GO MU!
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

With Butler, the new coach tendency to struggle doesn't apply to them. Still formulating it in my head, but I'm thinking that because Holtman was such an important part of the staff already, the transition has been seamless.

Our defense has been scary good in the first three games. We'll see if it's legit on Wednesday against UNC.

Crow, crow, crow for everyone.

I'm not Catholic, but I shamed the holy sacrament this afternoon.

Seriously, though, the Blue Moon seasonal pack is exceptional. You can call me a bitch for drinking Blue Moon, but we just beat the #5 team in the land. I don't give a damn.

Go Big East.

Okay. Sorry. I watched the game on delay, and I'm still trying to get over the abomination that was last season.
