1.) G'Town - Kansas, Wisconsin and Florida. Enough said.
2.) Quette - Wisconsin and Ohio State
3.) Butler - Battle 4 Atlantis jumps them up.
4.) Providence - outside of Kentucky, no real powerhouses, but they scheduled a lot of very decent teams.
5.) St. John's - Duke at the Garden and Cuse at the Dome.
6.) Nova - Cuse at home and Michigan.
7.) DePaul - Stanford and Colorado are decent gets.
8.) Xavier - knowing they also play Cincy was in my head.
9.) Creighton - Oklahoma is the only real standout.
10.) Seton Hall - Rutgers and Georgia just don't move the needle much.

I pump Nova ahead of St John's because they also have VCU. Though St John's could get a bump if they play Gonzaga. Ignoring VCU and Gonzaga is foolish.

Agree that ignoring VCU and ZAGA doesnt make much sense but understand the point of the thread. The reason I dont agree with your point about swaping NOVA and sju is because SJU also plays Minnesota who is pre season top 25. So while NOVA plays cuse at home SJU plays them on the road. Then Duke > Michigan and ZAGA+Minn > VCU. Just my opinion

I would look at the rest of the schedule- and with Temple, Illinois, etc. that's better than St John's- with their next best game being St Mary's. It's not even all that close quite frankly. Nova has like 7 real tough games, VCU, Michigan/Oregon, LaSalle, St Joe's, Temple, Illinois, Syracuse- and that doesn't even count Bucknell or Penn. 4 of those 7 tough games either road/neutral. St John's has Minnesota, Gonzaga(if they beat Minnesota), Syracuse, St Mary's, and Duke. only Syracuse road.[/quote]

Its definitely not "not even all that close" but I cant say your wrong. I love how the philly schools do things with each other.
Heres each teams top 6 games:

St johns VS Nova

1.) @ cuse > cuse
2.) Duke > Michigan
3.) Minnesota > Illinois
4.) Gonzaga ? VCU (if its Georgia than edge goes to nova for sure)
5.) St marys < Temple ( there isnt much of a discrepency there but since its a rivalry ill give it to nova)
6.) L Beach st < St joes

ill give you the depth from there but its not huge, if your gonna say that lasalle and st joes (after what they lost) are real tough games than Long Beach State isnt a walk in the park. St. Johns has the three tougher matchups, I really hope they get a shot at Gonzaga.

1 major difference-
Michigan, Illinois, and VCU all are road/neutral. LaSalle is road. Penn is road.

What exactly does St John's have away from NYC? 1 game- at Syracuse.

I would also put VCU ahead of Illinois

if you go by rankings
Duke #3
Gonzaga if St John's gets to play is #13.
VCU is #16
Michigan if Nova gets to play is #23
Syracuse is #24

Minnesota isn't even ranked.

So if St John's and Nova win their games-
St John's gets 3,13, @24
Nova gets vs 16, vs 23,24

I'd say Nova a lot more likely to see Michigan than St John's is to see Gonzaga. And that makes a huge difference overall.

I would put the Johnnies over Nova but it's really a wash. I think Both have strong non-cons as do the bulk of the members. I think Seton Hall needs to upgrade significantly next season. They will have little margin for error if they are relying on Rutgers and Georgia. Even if you throw Witchita State in there as well.

Kind of reminds you of SMU last year- and we know how bad that ended for SMU. And the thing is- the Big East won't have those chances for big wins most likely that SMU had.

I would put both Nova and St John's ahead of Butler and PC.

I'd say Georgetown, Marquette, St John's and Nova have very good ones. Butler and PC are meh so-so types. The other 4 aren't all that good at all.

And the thing is- PC, Xavier, Creighton, and Seton Hall may need the SOS piece the most.
